Yes, but so essentially does the Baron's. No complaints there. Without seeing the thread, it's hard to tell, but Nickelodeon felt the need to apologise/clarify, and he wasn't banned. And it's only a three day ban.

In general sentiment I agree with you. One banning in a couple of weeks is hardly a massive change given the number of extra moderators. However, if the new mods don't share our views on the use of certain words, it'd be nice of them to let us know, so we can explain our thoughts (as I'm sure many people are only too willing to do).

I'm all about freedom and free speech. Why delete threads? It's sad :(

What you should do is figure out bans per day, beginning with the day each became a mod.

Then we can see who the most trigger happy is.

Closing and removing threads because of a picture(s), swearing.. This just isn't going too well now is it? Moderating is one thing but over-policing and arbitrarily removing threads and banning for things such as swearing will no longer make this the place it once was. That plus the influx of idiotic new members we seem to have had of late can and may well lead to a mass exodus of members who have been here long enough to remember what it was once like in the earlier days of sciforums. I must admit I miss those days. The sciforums of lately is nothing like the sciforums of when I first joined in 2001. For one thing the moderation seems to have taken a wrong turn and the more moronic members of society seem to be joining by the bucketload in the last year or so.

The results are in. Given the highly disappointing lack of information forwarded by the moderators regarding their appointment dates and hours worked, we decided to assess their ban ferocity as follows:

1. Calculate their total kill counts.
2. Take, as their start date, the date of their first kill.
3. Calculate how many days have elapsed from their start date to the present day, to give the number of days active (note that, although the forum has changed ownership, rumour has it that Porfiry is to stay on as an administrator. He's therefore deemed by the research team to be still active).
4. Divide their kill counts by their number of days active to give an overall average.

Here are the final scores:

It seems that the much-fancied goofyfish has an undeserved reputation, trailing in a poor 3rd (with a laughable 0.13 kills per day) to our no-nonsense newcomer Pseudo, who is fighting James hard for the Termination title.

However I have every confidence in my man, and feel sure that he'll continue to leave the others trailing in his wake.

Just so you know, I was referring to this thread being deleted as far as my cutting out goes. It's not too uncommon for racy pics to be deleted. The banana boy pic is kinda stupid to be deleted as it doesn't really show anything but a guy eating a banana, but it's not enough to make me leave.

Also, I think it isn' asking too much for an explaination as to:

1) why i was banned, and not nick aswell. Even if we are to accept that the ironic nature of the posts between nick and I was not picked up on, both of us were guilty of swearing. So why was I singled out?

2) why the lack of consistency in the decision?
