What the hell for?
Do you find my curiosity threatening?

It's a harmless question that allows people the oppotunity for introspection and self expression.

Weather or not you want to express yourself is your option, Lord_Tigersloth.
Your invalidation of me and this thread is pointless.

Because of the economy I have been working thousands of miles away from my home for a long time. I only get to see home on holidays. So that's what I dream about. My wife, my pets, my garden, my own bed and comfortable furniture and stereo, my car, my neighbors. And good home cooking.

The simplest things in life that we take for granted every day become the fondest dreams in the universe when they are taken away.

sounded like a harmless thread to me. so i will answer and not lecture....

being a redblooded male, i think you know what one of the answers is, so i shant go into detail.

sometimes i wonder what my life would be like if some random dramatic thing happened, usallly good things, like me droping out of school to play baseball, or something like that. sometimes bad things. like sudden injury. not that i wallow in sorrow, i just wonder how i would handle it.

or what my life may be like in 5years. I think about the future alot. too much actually, i will sometimes ignore the present. I'm better now, don't do it as much.

if i'm really bored, i play video games in my head. that way i always win:D

morsey,
Love is fascinating.
Do you mind sharing the story and your fantasies?

spacemanspiff,
What will your life be like in 5 years?
As a red blooded male, I still wouldn't know the details, but it's ok.
I'm more interested in what you think your future holds.

Fraggle Rocker,
What do you do that makes you work far away because of the economy?

What do sciforumers day dream about or fantasize about at night?
I dunno about them, but I can bet you it's nice and squeaky clean. :D

Please give details about all of your fantasies.
Fantasize about a lot of things..
- about having superpowers
- about being a celebrity
- about being a virtual unknown then elevated to top rockstardom
- about some people, and the conversations we could have
- about what would happen if I were the last person on Earth
- about what I would get if I were locked in a mall for 24 hours and an unlimited credit card with no crowds at all
- about being an orphan
- about going back in time to look at things
- about floating in space
- about drifting in the ocean and feeling the actual undulations of the waves
- about death, and funny ways someone could die
- about microscopic organisms eating away at my flesh
- about playing guitar really really well
- about dying in some glorious battle where I am victorious but fall as my opponent dies because we've both been fatally injured by each other; usually it involves me nearly dying, then summoning a last surge of power to blow them to bits, but having expended that energy I collapse and my soul is taken away by an electric-blue wolf with glowing golden eyes....

the year, 2008. the place, some university in america.
I am a newly hired prof. and i'm all nevous about getting all my research grants in, getting grad students, and meeting the other faculty.
i'm betting i'll still be single. but i guess anything can happen. maybe i'll have 2 kids by then!

that's my best guess. but you never know. i might go more the teaching route and not do so much research. the big unknown is where. eastcoast? westcoast? i totally did not anticipate ending up where i am now(wisconsin) so i'm not even going to try and figure out where i end up. certainly this eary. but hopefully someplace warm.:D

But I sometime, when really bored, daydream about being invisible. And like Blu%, playing the guitar really well, having the power to play any tune at the snap of a finger!!

If I'm at college and really bored I imagine like a SWAT team is storming my class, kills off all the people I don't like and I get a gun and kill the pigeons on the window ledge

But most of the time, it's about my girlfriend, I really miss her when I'm not around her :(

Because of the uncertainty of how the U.S. and the rest of the world would ultimately react, companies have been slashing all expenses and staff that don't contribute directly to the next quarter's profit, and consumers have been deferring discretionary spending -- an economic death spiral. I was unemployed for months and finally had to give up on consulting and take a salaried position. For what I was making fifteen years ago and way off in the wrong state.

I appreciate your concern. But I'm lucky, I have a lot of friends who haven't seen a paycheck since 9/11.

Some Chinese folks must have really laid a curse on us. We are certainly living in some interesting times.

lol. Awww...going so soon? :pAnd like Blu%, playing the guitar really well, having the power to play any tune at the snap of a finger!! My friend can do that..and she started learning a week ago. *suppresses murderous rage* It's because she can recognize any note you can sing, play or tap out. She's got a perfect ear. I am very very annoyed, especially when she flaunts it at lunch because we sit near the music hall. Grrrr!! If I'm at college and really bored I imagine like a SWAT team is storming my class, kills off all the people I don't like and I get a gun and kill the pigeons on the window ledge Hey me too, only except of a SWAT team there is an evil mage warrior and me revealing myself somehow as a reincarnation of a warrior we fight to the death. (Continue with the other stuff about the wolf and the soul yadda yadda) :D
--- --- --- ---

I also fantasize about growing blood-red wings in a violent spasm of pain and ripped muscle and skin, then having to learn to use them like new limbs. I would be known worldwide as the Angel girl, and even the Pope would come to talk with me. Then, another winged one would emerge, except his wings would be pure black. Then the scientists would muse, "Is humanity evolving?" and study me and my angel buddy.

A few years later, the Apocalypse would arrive, and in an attempt to save people my friend and I would fly up against the Beast and fight; only to fail and plummet to the earth with our wings in ragged ruins.

There are two girls that go to my school. I daydream about them all the time. Why? There not stupid, or stuckup.... just slightly out of my reach (not sarcastically, seriously).

They're both unique (all the other girls are basically stuck up or following the crowd), beautiful, intelligent..... One puts a smile on my face by just saying Hi. The other, a smile on my face by smiling at me with the grandest, most beautiful smile....

Ahhhh life sucks eh?

With the exception of the starving Americans comment, I enjoyed this thread. Fraggle and Blue especially.

Fraggle I hope things get better for you. Just before, during and for about a year after the first Gulf War, I was in the same boat you are in. It almost cost me my marriage but I was very blessed to land another job closer to home. I hope you can find something closer to home too, even if it means making some sacrifices. Believe me, it's worth it i the long run. Congrats on 25 years with your spouse....I'm coming up on 20 this July! It's been a great trip so far.

Oh and what do I daydream about?

I dream about cool misty nights after a warm summer's day, with a full moon and the crickets chirping.

My friend's and I out on a boat on Lake Michigan, catching huge trophy sized salmon and drinking beers.

Winning some insane amount of money and doing something good with some of it to the help the world be a better place---

then immediately going out and buying a Porsche Carrera with cash!

I infiltrate Sadman Insane's Baghdad palace and singlehandedly destroy his elite bodyguard unit, capturing the dictator and escaping without a trace, handing him over to the international tribunal to stand on charges of being a cruel, big moustached, troublemaker and overnight the world recognizes me for the genius that I am.

there's more but I digress too much.....

And I'm on my way... I'm going to start playing hockey pretty soon.If you were to take a poll of the people of my generation and ask them if they have a lot of regrets, and then ask them if there's a common theme behind them, do you know what they'd say? I do, because I hear them talking about it all the time. I'ts all the things they put off until they lost a little weight.

The biggest health problem in America is not obesity. The biggest health problem in America is the EMOTIONAL HEALTH problem of being OBSESSED with their weight. The billions of dollars they waste on wacky diets. The opportunities they give up because they're "too fat" to deserve them. The yo-yo diets where they spend eight months losing 30 pounds, and then they lose their focus and gain back 40 over the holiday season. The people they hurt because of their emotional mood swings based on the little number that shows in the window of their stupid bathroom scale in the morning. If I were king, I would make it illegal to manufacture or sell a scale for weighing human beings.

You say you're six feet tall and weigh 240, and you're in good enough physical condition to play HOCKEY? I guarantee that people don't look at you and say, "Hey, that guy ought to lose a few pounds." They say, "That's one tough dude. I wonder which sport he plays? I hope our school doesn't have to play against his team!"

I'm not going to tell you that there's no cause-and-effect relationship between people losing weight and feeling happy. There is. But this whole stupid damn corporate-and-TV-manipulated population has it backwards. People don't get happy because they've eaten a little less and lost weight. People stop making eating the center of their lives and start eating a little less without even thinking about it and start losing weight because they are HAPPY!

Do you see a lot of people out there who are hanging on to some diet by the skin of their teeth and losing one or two pounds a week who look HAPPY? Most of them look miserable. Their entire life revolves around counting calories and dreading what that stupid scale will tell them tomorrow morning because they had too much salt on their dinner.

They don't have the energy, the willpower, the self-respect, or the priority to go after anything else in this world except the goal of losing just a couple more pounds by the first day of summer.

You're way, way too young to start living like that. It is pure hell. Ask anybody. This is one of those cases where I'll play my trump card and say you should just listen to your elder. I know people who have been on diets for TWICE as long as you've been alive.

Nobody ever gets happy because they lose weight. They lose weight because they're happy.

I know we're now going to get angry testimonials from people who tried out the Doctor Kazoo Miracle Diet and lost 25 pounds and they feel great. And I'm going to tell them all the same thing. Log back in here one year from now and tell us two things: How much do you weigh now, and how happy are you?

Confidence comes from your heart, not your belly.

Describe some of your day dreams.
I usually dream of things like...
- having kids
- some other parent stuff...
...
- making rain food in Africa and feeding the poor
- making a forest appear and cover the whole Sahara Desert
- coming to a battlefield where millions of Israelitis and Palestines fought and died and raise all of them from the dead
- sending the Holy Spirit into millions of people
- walking around and wherever I go people go on their knees and start worshiping God and becoming Christians
- making weapons of mass destruction release thousands of flowers when exploded

This answer pretty much all of them...

Is there anything you dwell on?
God. Christ. Love.

1) day dreams.
I day dream about the dreams I had the night before

2) Fantasies at night.
I fantasize about building houses

3) Social
I fantasize about doing stand up comedy

4) Sexual
I wonder what it would be like to have a three way with Anna Nicole and another guy

5) Financial/Future
I wonder if I were more financially well off, if I would find myself
in the same ruts that I blame on money problems now.

6) Adventure
I daydream about a a huge amount of gold being discovered, which ruins the economy, and everyone scrambs to reinvent bartering.

7) Reminiscence/Past
I relive events in my mind, but I change the crappy outcomes. I think it helps get rid of bad tapes.

8) Psychotic/Vengeance/Obsession
I'd like to see hunters hunted with their own guns, and I feel incensed when I hear about animal cruelty.

9) Is there anything you dwell on?
I'm a perfectionist. I dwell on dwelling.

- selectively "culling" the human species to a more manageable population(conflicting with truthseeker much?)

-Changing the public view on animal rights activists by starting an extremist group with different squads that travel the globe blowing up commercial fishing and shark finning boats , shooting poachers, stabbing miss rattle snake rodeo in the throat every year(miss rattle snake rodeo is the "sexy" girl at the anual rattle snake massacre who smiles while tearing the skin off snakes), strangling lumberjacks ..etc etc.

-being a celebrity and appearing on late night with conan o'brien, not sure what type of celebrity, maybe I could become a celebrity through my crazy organisation mentioned above.

-winning the lottery and creating the hippest and most profitable nightclub in human history.

-winning the lottery and creating a mansion with huge waterslides sticking out of the walls that lead into awesome man made lagoons that surround my mansion.

-getting lost at sea and stumbling upon a deserted island, discovering that on that island there are two european teenage lesians who got stranded there years before. The lesbians are angry at my presence at first but over the following weeks they warm to me and I eventually engage in having a crazy wild threesome with them on the beach.

-somehow aquiring a dvd set of nature documentaries from all over the universe. Each life filled planet in the universe would have its own dvd set involving a dvd for each family of creature(ie cetaceans, primates etc) on said planet. man that'd be sweet

-having specific types of dogs when I'm older for some reason

-doing nasty sexual stuff with caitlin from degrassi junior high.

-having my own boat and exploring the marine habitats near me while on ecstasy(my dad has a sweet boat but he won't let me use it to explore while on ecstasy:( jerk)

-being back in school ..... aaaaaah ... school:) (not because I like eductaion but because I like girls and I like not having to go out and look for them)

-having everything I've ever enjoyed on tv in a huge easy to navigate dvd library.... damn!

-ummmmm ..... i'll get back to you

-man, I have alot of "dreaming time" on my hands...

Maltese were used a circus dogs in England. (They were a bit larger, not the five-pounders so popular today.) Excellent eyesight (for a dog, that would equate to about 20/100 in a human), strong, playful, curious, no sense of territory. Will go anywhere with you and not wander off, will invent their own games and play until you drop from exhaustion.

Lhasa Apsos were used to guard Himalayan monasteries from burglars. They are almost all alphas and regard you as a dear roommate who buys all the food. Excellent hearing. Not very active but always on duty. Will second-guess your choice of friends... and they will ALWAYS be right.

3. Take sub-orbital SST's for weekend vacations on the other side of the world.
4. Give friendly help to the Soviet Union, which had finally come to its senses and adopted democracy but not necessarily capitalism.
5. Admire the houses and highways and food factories the Peace Corps built that eradicated poverty in the Third World.
6. Regard all religions (except the ones like the Dao that don't have much of a supernatural vector) as quaint relics from our unenlightened past, like Halloween.
7. Have a U.N. army that existed mainly just in case the Romulans really were out there.
8. Have huge parks all over the tropics where we could watch tens of thousands of elephants, tigers, etc. live as nature intended with no hunting and no competition for farm land.
9. Take all the drugs we wanted but be sensible and never get addicted, and the government would be sensible and never hassle us as long as we didn't get stupid.
10. Walk down any street in America at any hour of the night or day and not even occur to us to feel unsafe.
11. Be so totally integrated that everybody was just different shades of brown.
12. Still be listening to rock and roll.

Well, at least we were right about # 11. Frankly, at the time a lot of us probably thought that was the most important one.

1) Flying between the clouds, and above buildings.

2) Almost all my dreams consist of super-normal powers... not sure if that means anything, but that's the only consistent thread.

3) Being an enjoyable person who can move within groups without harassment.

4) Not all that many, honestly. Too young.

5) I'll go off into the woods, become a hermit, master carpentry and possibly swordsmanship while I'm out there (would have to get the tools from town every once in a while). Come back, find that the investment I had made before I left had grown substantially... so I'd have enough security to go back out into the woods again.

6) Living in a fantastic/ D&D type world as a ranger, born of the land, with my weapons in both hands and all creatures, from goblin to dragon, fearing me and my panther ally.

7) I torture myself with my mistakes on the rare occasion that I think about my past. I don't like thinking about my past.

8) On occasion, I imagine what it would feel like to puncture someone's neck with sharpened fingernails and reach down their spine... just kidding. I don't have all that many.

9) My spirituality, and my skills- how to improve them.

I'm with you as I don't care for the new stuff (Korn, Nine Inch Nails, etc) either. My garbage disposal has more talent and sounds better to me.

As for Sabbath, they're a great group. I tend to prefer groups that are not so well known here in the states such as House of Spirits (Turn of the Tide - NOT Physcosphere - yuck!), Saxon, Pretty Maids, Edguy (who's lead singer sounds JUST LIKE Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden, I swear!), MSG (Michael Schenker's stuff), Vinnie Moore, Gary Moore, John Norum (another guitar god) and alot of other the 80's "one hit wonders". AND... I also prefer Van Halen/Roth to Van Hagar. ;)

That sounds interesting. Can you please elaborate like story wise? I was hoping to see some fantasies in this thread that are described with more narration
All of your fantasies are interesting, but they are brief summaries.

I’d be interested in lots of details about your fantasies.
Has anybody ever read Nancy Friday books such as “Women On Top?”
She’s a sexologist that studies people and their sexual fantasies. There are actually a few similar sexologists that study people’s sexual fantasies and publish them.
I wonder if there are any books that study other types of fantasies that people have.
Anyway, I think it would be interesting to see a fantasy told in detail from start to finish.

I daydream alot. Actually theres little I wont daydream about, which should be obvious. My list could go on forever.

******I throw myself into moments and pretend to freeze time so that I can see the moment and everything contained within it!!!!!!!

Thanks.
Would it be possible to write one of them down?
Like in a story form?
Many day dreams can make for more interesting stories than actual fiction.

What do sciforumers fantasize about?

1) Describe some of your day dreams.
2) Describe you’re your fantasies at night.
3) Social
4) Sexual
5) Financial/Future
6) Adventure
7) Reminiscence/Past
8) Psychotic/Vengeance/Obsession
9) Is there anything you dwell on?

1)these days, I don't day dream much. I replaced those with contemplation of past mistakes and future possibilities. I guess those *are* daydreams, aren't they? :D silly me. ok, I daydream about future events, all very realistic and almost always partain to my future goals. Namely removing myself from society and retiring to whatever job I feel like by the time I'm 30. I am a work-a-holic, but only when I can work until something is done. not "I have no time left, it's good enough, so it is done". If I know I have a final date due, then I can never get lost in the work- I have to schedule the work too much to enjoy it.

2)in many ways, you seriously don't want to know. They nearly killed me growing up. you know that ultimate chest clutching pain you felt when your first pet died growing up? Yeah, every night for 23 years.
Taught me alot about helping other people living through tough times, though. isn't all bad

3) social. bah. pointless. a powerful tool whose effects are very short term

4)bah. pointless. a powerful tool whose effects are very short term (except for the whole children thing). Now only if I didn't enjoy it so much...

5)retire to full time tree guy/writer/painter/dog trainer/whatever before I'm 30. then just live for the rest of my life. having a little pillow of $$ to live on wouldn't hurt, but it's not manditory (ie, put some money into no-risk bank account, and live on interest). Part time work for the hell of it, and food money.

6)getting up every morning is an adventure in itself, though I'd like to go back to Ecuador for a while- pretty good energy there, despite the poverty. just goes to show that money and happiness are not directly linked

7)my past is a series of lessons which has brought me to now. they are all good things.

8)yes

9)everything, but only so much as is useful. If I can't fix it, then screw it, I won't let it bother me.

all in all, I want to enjoy the rest of my life. But I'm boring, so that means looking at trees and hiking nearly full time. I think it's do-able. I still owe $16k from college, not including the house, but including the car. I figure I'll be gaining savings (instead of paying off debt) by this time next year.

Once I 'retire' , I can be a day-dreamer professionally :D :D :D

[I dream] "for myself, for myself alone, and whether I [become] a benefactor to others, or [spend] my life like a spider cathcing men in my web andsucking life out of men, I couldn't have cared..."

[i]Anyway, I think it would be interesting to see a fantasy told in detail from start to finish. [/B]

Curiosity killed THIS cat.... Why are you looking for other people's porno stories? You've kinda touched upon a sensitive area so I can see some reluctance or hesitiation regarding this question and why nobody has answered it. Some things are best left private IMO. However, I have personally written one such story (visually stimulating but also tasteful done, I think) and have been throwing around the thought of sending it to a publisher (under a different name other than my own of course) as the "few" I have shared it with has given it extremely good reviews. Still need to tweak it up a bit though. But for now, the bookstores are filled with them. That might be a good place for you to start!:)

1) Describe some of your day dreams.
I dream about being somewhere else far away, preferably with a backpack, and no need to ever come back.
2) Describe your fantasies at night.
*deleted by user due to underaged forum members
3) Social
I wish I lived with male roommates and hung out with my friends more often.
4) Sexual
*see above; no celebrities needed even in a fantasy. someone real works just fine.
5) Financial/Future
I dream BIG here. If it's only in my head, than my future is as a rockstar.
6) Adventure
My biggest adventure fantasy lately is taking off and traveling the world. I've been kind of planning this to do for real before youth discounts don't apply to me anymore.
7) Reminiscence/Past
People I've lost, friendships and relationships that severed, simple lazy summers with my best friend before our lives got complicated.
8) Psychotic/Vengeance/Obsession
I've fantasized about beating the **** out of some people.
9) Is there anything you dwell on?
Plenty- there's always something. Usually whatever it is I have to get done but don't want to.

1) Describe some of your day dreams. I don't daydream that I know about.

2) Describe you’re your fantasies at night. I don't have these, I just do what I want, i don't have to fantisize.

3) Social. Nothing that I would want to change in what I do now.

4) Sexual. I don't fantisize about this, I just do what I want.

5) Financial/Future. I'm already retired so my future is set.

6) Adventure. Go on ocean cruises or go to Europe to see the interesting things there.

7) Reminiscence/Past; I can't change the past in any way so I don't dwell on it much.

8) Psychotic/Vengeance/Obsession. No.

9) Is there anything you dwell on? Inward peace, peace of mind.
:)
