I have just watched this David Gross, video.

I'll try to add it to Bentheman's sticky, but I was wondering if any one would like to discuss the points and issues which he raised?

Prof. David Gross is very good at describing complex problems, in plain simple terms and diagrams another good teacher.

Are there any Prof. David Gross's lectures at UC Berkeley, I can watch?

    Light in, Light out.

Why not buy a book and learn the physics properly? Oh yeah, you're daft enough to think watching videos counts as 'doing physics'.

You are a professional is a stalker.

You attack anyone, who questions or challenges 'your' authority.

    You should get professional help.

Everyone is different, I learn more and understand far better, if someone takes the time to explain it to me first, in a clear concise manor. Like David Gross, Leonard Susskind and Richard Feynman. If I enjoy what they say I ask lots of silly questions and then read further.

I strongly recommend you watch the lectures I have suggested and learn from them, before criticizing anyone else.

You must have had a strange education.

Yes, a PhD in physics can to strange things to a person.

    So what's your education?

    Dear Terry(nOOb),

As a layman myself, I agree with what AlphaNumeric is saying. No doubt, the videos are wonderful, but they do not contain all the details. They are simplified just like the popular physics books. It is a great place to start, but AlphaNumeric is correct, when he points out that laymen do not understand all of the technical language.

It does take talent for an author to be able to keep his audience in mind. Unlike, when he’s writing a scholarly document, when he’s writing for a wider audience, he must substitute technical terms for common ones, and some details can be lost. Most lay readers don’t want to decipher the guts of the research and writers can quickly lose their interest.

Their education is overwhelming committed to technical aspects but they are still required to provide written documents. I’m sure that there are many students who have not taken formal courses in scientific writing. If their work is to have an impact, the key is clarity, but we (laymen) cannot expect to have complete knowledge of the subject at hand from just reading a book, or watching a video that was prepared for our level of comprehension.

One last thing, if you are going to continue to insert images. Could you please make them a wee bit smaller, and stop addressing AlphaNumeric, as Alpha(Nob), unless you are implying that he has a higher social standing. Since he has the capability to address some our questions, why not try and be polite? Beggars can't be choosers.

    You done speak good.

You certainly don't 'challenge' my anything nor do I see you as a threat at all. I'm not even sure if you think coherently, let alone have the capacity to do anything remotely related to the topics you post about.

So telling you to look in books to learn things means I need professional help?

I've studied QCD and such things as asymptotic freedom, I don't need to watch the lectures to know about the basics of them. I learnt about them from books.

    At least I have one.
