You know how you can go to paint (or other programs such as msn messenger), click open, then click recent and a bunch of pictures you're recently seen are there?
Well, that's incredibly annoying. Is there any way to delete that damned recent folder? Or how do I prevent certain files from showing up in the recent folder?

Also... is there some way to password protect folders?
I searched and all I come up with is software I have to buy, but that happened when I searched screen shots and i ended up learning that there's a key that lets you take screen shots, so maybe there's some way to password protect folders without having to dowload anything?

That information is classified, sir.
I have certain things in my computer that are meant for my eyes only.
You know... stuff like a new invention that will change the universe as we know it, stuff like that.

:-P

do a google search for freeware
in the links provided by the search look for a program called tweak ui
it should help you with a lot of different things
make sure you read the help files before you use it

edit

Grr... it says something about not being able to find a directory or something...
But thanks! I'll figure it out later.
I also downloaded the calculator... I think it's going to be useful with my homework :D

ZeroTracks gets rid of all the leftovers that are scattered all over your local drive during normal computer work and after every time that you connect to the Internet. Temporary files, history information, download information and cookies are all handled by ZeroTracksT. recycle bin, clipboard memory, downloaded program files directory, temporary files directory, most recent used file list, swap file and recent network drive list. Gone from the web so Son Of Spy uploads 4U.*Change filename from .zip to .exe *

Ad-Aware, SpyBot - S&D... If you use either of these programmes to do a thorough search they will pick up such things as Recently Used Document lists from various programmes installed on your system - figure out which is pertinent to which and you can set them to selectively wipe out a given programmes recent activity, or else wipe the lot - keeps you in the habit of sweeping for nasties at anyrate.

As for folder protection, there's a number of freeware utilities which will give you this option - simplest of course is to just change the settings on the folder to Hidden or System - then in Explorer select Tools choose Folder Options> select Hide system files and folders.

You're porn >ah-em!<, sorry, inventions folder becomes blinvisible to the naked eye.

That doesn't mean your inventions cannot be found. If someone actually wanted to find your evidence and use them against you (somehow..), you'd be surprised what can be found on your HD.

For 7$ you can get 3gb - http://www.fuitadnet.com/
For 10$ you can get 5gb - http://www.hostgator.com/shared.shtml

Needless to say they will most likely delete your account if find porn on it,
what seems to be your case.

Oh, true, very true. There's industrial espionage everywhere these days. Ones inventions can never be secure enough...

Just zip the things, password protect the archive. Name it something bland and systemy and just drop it in your main windows folder - no one knows what the fucks in there anyway.

Y'can still do the hide the folder/file trick - people just assume the archive's something to do with the OS...

Or, better yet, just burn the things onto a RW Disc, lable it (again) something computery and dull and stash it with your other system discs - nothing left on the computer, nothing to wipe.
