I just noticed that my Avatar has a unique priority. My eyes see the young maiden when it is 90 degrees from upright but sees the old hag when it is 90 degrees past upright.
Why the left right observational change? What do others see?
I think it looks more like an old proffesor when it's 90 degrees past upright

HeHe. You must have loved school.
My curiosity was why one should see a preferred view in the 90 positions. I was wondering if other might see the opposite.
I believe it is because those positions are how we usually see objects. We often see a familiar object at it's proper positioning. So, when given the choice, we would rather see a familiar object in a familiar position. A bit like turning a TV on it's side, after watching for about a minute you just want to put it in it's usual position.

Yes but if I do that I will simply see the TV picture turned +/- 90 degrees. In this case there seems to be a preferrred "Very Distinct Different" view of the same data.
That is in one 90 degree view you see the maiden, in the other you see the hag (or favorite professor). My question is "Do others see the same preferred 90 degree view or does it alternate or is it the opposite of my view"?
I'm thinking that it may have to do with the direction of rotation and that our minds bias our perception in an anticipatory way. That is what we see is biased by prior vision of the same data.
I am going to build a reverse sequence (rotate counter clock wise) and do a comparision.
This is Clockwise Rotation:

Well I just proved myself wrong. I see the same image in the same orientation regardless of direction of rotation.
Damn If I understand why that should be.

Looks like my bowel movement this morning when I flushed ! :D

When it rotated in the swirl going down did the image change? :D

Why of course, you don't think I have ever changing bowel movements? ;)

Your bowel movements are not only NOT at the top of my list, they aren't on my list. :D

Well you asked for what we saw and I only told you what I saw.

Looks like an old dude to me, as well. I don't see any sign of a hot chick or old hag. The thing below the 'beard' might be seen as a 'crown' if on the top. But the rest of it still looks like an old dude to me. Maybe if it moved a bit slower one could take more time in trying to ascertain what it might be. It moves so fast, it's hard to get past the 'first' impression one receives. Which in my and Thor's cases was of the old man.
