I've been a huge fan of Cube ever since my friends introduced me to the first one. There was a huge outcry for a sequel, and a sequel was released. I think only on video. I didn't know there was a third one out until today, and I immediately hijacked it. For some reason, they do not release these movies in the theaters. It's a shame because they have such a huge cult fanbase.
All three movies thus far have been very good.

I agree. I've only seen the prequel and the sequel though. Can't find the original in my little podunk town. Mail me a copy? :)

After watching it, I really wouldn't call Cube Zero a prequel...

To me it looks way more like it takes place in the first cube, but in the future, a good while after both previous cubes. Everything in it looks old, retrofitted with new stuff.

And cotton, Amazon? Gnutella?

I was just joking about mailing me a copy. You're probably right about it not looking like a prequel, though. I did like the man with the fake eye though. Very cool performance. Like I said, I haven't been able to find the original Cube so I wouldn't really know about the prequel not looking like a prequel. :)

There is a thing called the filesharing community. Use it to your advantage.

Indeed. I have seen all the Cube movies. Cube 2 is my favorite, though.

I thought Cube 3 was a prequel? The Cube in Cube 3 looked tore up and beaten down, like it had just been built.

On the other hand, what the hell are they doing asking people if they believe in God?

Cube Zero was identified as being a prequel, though it was the third in the series. I'm working my way backwards, 3-2-1. So it shouldn't bother me that the original looks newer than the prequel, which is the 3rd, though I saw the 3rd first, and I'll see the 1st 3rd, and blah-bla bla, bla-blah-bla-blah-blah. :)

What I wasn't happy about in the third is that they introduced a protagonist centered story line. In the previous 2, there was no specific protagonist, although it was always aparant which person the psycho antagonist was.

Cotton: try not to fall into the temptation of thinking the ending of cube 3 is more related to the first than it actually is... like the morons in imdb.

CounslerCofee: Cube three looks all beaten on the inside, but look at the outside shots... way futuristic. and the control room is all broken and beaten up.. but look at the toys. it's like it was an old broken place, that got fit with shiny new stuff. the cube too, to some extent. I interpret it as being the first cube built, but as it is used in the future.

Plus, in hypercube they call it phase two, and say the FIRST one had numbers, so there ;)

As for the God thing, the was I saw it, was the whole things was run by the evil christian god, who by that time was also either Mr.1984, or the president of the US.

I mean come on, look at Jax...

I've rent Cube Zero, soon I will be able to watch it when it arrives.

Cube ( the original one ) has always been on top of my list.

I rather disliked Cube 2: Hypercube. It had none of the charm or interest of the first.
I'll see Cube 3 if it comes on SciFi Channel.
