The major flaw is the way he calculates the chance of meeting the right girl. He assumes that he will meet one girl a week spread uniformly over the entire demographic.

This is not true.

You will meet many more people then that a week. Not just the people you walk by in the street, but the people you interact with in shops, work and social circumstances.

Just by going to a medium sized pub once a week should bring the number of female contacts up to about 15. Thus the chances of meeting someone each week is 1 in 232.

The pub you go to will also skew the demographic in your favour. Of the top of my head I would guess that with correct pub selection a disproportionately high selection of patrons will fall into your selection criteria. 25% of patrons will fit your primary selection criteria.

Thus meeting the right person is about 1/58.

We can exclude females that are already partnered because they wont be going to that type of pub. 1/29

As you age your age selection criteria broadens. The bottom end moves up slowly while the top end moves up by the same rate as you age. For a 22 year old male the range is 18-25 for a 30 year old it would be 19-33 and for a 40 year old it would be 20-45.

For a 40 year old like me the odds are down to 1/10.
