Porfiry, whenever I try to post something long, that has lots of thought in it, the damn site tells me I'm not logged in (when I know I have). And then, BOOM, all the stuff I posted is gone. Perhaps you should look into this matter. Some of us actually bother to write more than three paragraphs, and if this keeps happening you will annoy off most of the active posters here. All that will be left are the people whoonly post 2 lines at a time. Which would render Sciforums helpless in the face of a 'brain drain', all the brains will go off to other discussion forums.

So look into this, will ya? I am still enraged by how I lost my thirty minutes I'd devoted into my lost post. I can't get it back, no matter what the hell I do. The back button doesn't work (which I consider to be a last resort), nothing works.

Rather then frustrating and enraging yourself, simply open up an application, any application (notepad, notebook, Word, Frontpage, etc..), which allows you to type text. Copy and paste your text into Sciforum's, that way, if something goes wrong, you always have your text either available in your appy or copied into your clipboard. It's really that easy.

I hear about this all the time. Do what Q says, but also check your options to make sure that anything related to being logged in and to cookies is enabled. Let me check...(makes obscene humming noise) looks like you should have the second and third options availible, automatically log in and browse board with cookies. Tell me if those are already enabled, but for me, once I turned them on everything was dandy.

What (Q) has mentioned is the standard method I use. Usually, if links are needed, images, or just generally gathering thoughts and checking spelling it seems to have been the answer. Not because of drop out or loss of cookie info but because I can do this off line, use multiple site addresses and tailor the post as I want it presented with all the thought time I should need if I need it. One other thing I deal with is that my provider at times drops out. I am sure this is set up for those who fall asleep while on line or some such. Upon logging back on sometimes the post is lost when the connections don't reestablish properly. Over time I learned to deal with it so that it is no big deal. At first I was quite flustrated at loosing a prepared post...

All other forum related sites, such as Physicsforums, ezboard, etc and all MAIL-related cookies work perfectly. Even archmage BB's work. but sciforums is the ONLY one that does not.
