I'm not a teacher myself, nut it seems to me that science and technology education is sufficiently critical to society as to deserve its own category. Anyone agree?
science and technology isn't important? :bugeye: technology has pulled off nothing less than a miracle in the last 50 years, what's up with this "it's not important"? edit: i reread your post and i'm glad i did. i took the meaning of the post backwards, sorry about that.
Yes and No Yes and no. I see the merit, but the staff here has long acknowledged, to itself, at least, its lack of qualified instructors, advisors, or experts to oversee such an endeavor. We do have some well-educated people on the volunteer staff, but it is my belief that in order to responsibly and properly carry out such an endeavor, we would probably have to pay instructors, advisors, or experts, and, furthermore, would increase our liability exposure. While I have no objections to those propositions, I do not believe Sciforums is intended as such an endeavor by the site owners. Perhaps I am wrong in this, and they can be persuaded to such investment. We do have significant changes slated for some vague date in the relatively near future; unfortunately, I am not certain what those changes will look like. Perhaps, once we know the future course, it will be easier to figure whether or not such a proposition as you have offered is feasible with the parent company's needs and desires of this site.
