Godzilla is made of whatever the universe is made of... most likely an organic being (even better), and is therefore suseptible to atomic forces. No matter what his powers, a well timed nuke, laser-guided down his throat, would undoubtedly shatter his skull and kill him. "Could the American army do it?" Whatever! Hell, the French, English, Chinese, Indians, Russians, Pakistanis and Israelis could do the trick alone.

Well, you must also consider the issues to that. Godzilla's heart is a nuclear reactor more or less, and his atomic powers could nock the nuclear weapon out of the air for later consumption of him. Also in one movie, he IS affected by a nuclear blast, and then becomes far more powerful, though eventually he will melt down in a blast that would destroy entire parts of the world. hes like 30000 pounds of uranium in one spot.
