NASA has brought out a new book that brings images taken by its Great Observatories to the fingertips of the blind. The Great Observatories include NASA's Hubble, Chandra and Spitzer space telescopes.
"Touch the Invisible Sky" is a 60-page book with colour images of nebulae, stars, galaxies and some of the telescopes that captured the original pictures. Each image is embossed with lines, bumps and other textures.

It should not be that hard to produce a 3D map of any 2D image though a 60 page book could be fairly thick.

I think a lot of young men in the UK were waiting for a braille ediion of The Sun, so they could check out Page 3.

yes, i have seen some cool `popup` books....
