Congress Passes Socialized Medicine and Mandates Health Insurance -In 1798

...government provided healthcare service was to be paid for by a mandatory tax on the maritime sailors (a little more than 1% of a sailor’s wages), the same to be withheld from a sailor’s pay and turned over to the government by the ship’s owner. The payment of this tax for health care was not optional. If a sailor wanted to work, he had to pay up.

...was also the first to mandate that privately employed citizens be legally required to make payments to pay for health care services

Newsflash: Founders favored "government run health care"

The founding fathers never understood their own original intent. As James Madison wrote: "As a guide in expounding and applying the provisions of the Constitution, the [founders debates at the Constitutional] Convention can have no authoritative character."

The original intent was that the original intent be ignored and that the meaning of the Constitution be (again, in Madison's words in the same letter where he rejects looking to the founders' understanding) "settled by practice."

It's more of a thing for the t-bags, they are the ones who view the founders as the 12 disciples of Jesus.
