Can someone tell me why i feel depressed/confused a lot of the time?

I sometimes get into states where everything is "fuzzy" and i feel confused, but there is nothing to be confused about.

Its like when you go to sleep in the afternoon and wake up 3 hours later or so, and feel confused... i feel that way a lot and everything gets sorta fuzzy. Not sure what the hell is going on. Its almost like being dizzy.

This only happens every few days, and generally lasts a few hours to all day. Any thoughts on what the hell is going on?

I am currently sitting here just understanding enough of what im writing to write this... really weird feeling. Almost depressing though.

Fubar,

Off the top of my head:

-- lack of sugar,
-- general exhaustion,
-- thyroid malfunction,
-- depression,
-- ...

I'm exactly the same, Fubar. Sometimes I'm a genius, othertimes my mind is useless (especially after I eat, for some reason). My reading speed is about 6 words a second when I'm in a fuzzy state.

Your lack of concentration after eating something likely is the result of a lack of blood in your brain. For digestion and transportation of the nutrients more blood is located in and around the digestive tract, so there is less blood available for other parts of the body. This can last some time, perhaps an hour or so.

It did cross my mind. From my vague memory of A-Level bio, I do remember something about blood being re-directed from the gut --> muscles and visa-versa in times of need. Who knows, it's a very intoxicated kind of head-ache (not that it hurts). Very strange.

Saw a doctor yesterday, he's convinced it's nothing to do with food. It is worse after eating though?

-- lack of sugar,

Yup or too much sugar could also be the culprit.

You could be hypoglycemic or hyperglycemic.

Also you're 15 so you maybe just really, really, lazy.

Well, I'm 22 with the same symptoms. And both sugar and any food seems to have an impact.

Maybe you should shed some tears mate, and release whatever built up "energy" you have.

It's not like that, for me anyway.

I would certainly check into the thyroid situation. My mother had problems with confusion/depression and this was the problem.
