The Confederate States elected one president and two Congresses in its short, not-so-independent life. I'm interested in finding election results if there are any. Popular vote tallies, electoral college results, results by state, whatever. I've searched Google, but I can't get any leads. They had to have recorded this stuff.

One main thing I'm wondering is if there were political parties in the Confederate States like there still were in the United States at the time. I know president Jefferson Davis was a Democratic politician before the civil war, but how about when he was actually in the CSA and elected president?

If anyone can show me election results, that would make me very happy.

Perhaps this book may help?

That looks like an interesting book. Thanks for sharing it. But I'm looking for fairly comprehensive results of the elections in the Confederate States, preferrably available online and for free. I want to know things like, "Jefferson Davis of the Democratic Party ran against Joe Smith of the Reform Party and carried all states in the electoral college but Georgia and North Carolina, winning 298 to Smith's 46". Wikipedia doesn't seem to have any of this information. It does say who was serving in Congress, but it doesn't indicate party affiliation beyond the fact that they were members of the US Democratic Party before and after the war, which is really obvious.

All I know is that after serving as temporary president, Jefferson Davis, running unopposed, was elected in 1861 for a six year term. So there was one single presidential election, no opponents, so likely not many people who bother deeply studying those election results.

That's likely why they are so hard to find.

The only information I can come up with was the South had Democrats and Wigs, and I don't know if there was any politicking, just a election and a march to war.
