I can think of worse ways to go.
I've done 72 hours before, but I had regular toilet breaks and ate alot of pizza at regular intervals
I bet he died of a heart attack after seeing his bill

I'd like to know what game he was playing. :)
Guessing from its popularity in the region (and the rest of the world unfortunatly) it was either Solitare or Counterstrike

You hear of guys dying in the process of having sex. I guess this is similar, but not as messy.

I'm willing to bet its either counterstrike or starcraft.
Happened before with a guy playing Diablo 2. He was doing MF (magic find) runs for 80+ hours in a row. I always wondered if he found some good stuff. Also i have wondered what his account was :)

I have seen a virus once make the screen strobe. That sort of thing can give you seizures.

Whoever this guy was who was playing Diablo 2 - well if you are stupid enough to play Diablo 2 for 80+ hours straight, then you probably deserve to die.
I have often played long times (like 8 hours straight), but not without eating, using the restroom, etc.... It would fry your eyes. I've never gone too long without sleeping (more than one night).
I don't know what would kill them. People with sleeping disorders have gone longer than that without dying (though they sometimes pass out/faint/fall unconcious). Maybe if they didn't drink water for 80 hours.
Guess it depends on the individual. I'd never abuse my body that much no matter how good a game (I don't think I've ever gone longer than 15 hours). It would fry my mind anyhow.
