I have researched the question of "Did the teenagers who commited the gruesome killings in Columbine, Colorado have pets?" and have not found any evidence to substantiate the question. Has anyone heard if they did and if so, what type, how long and were there any signs of abuse or mistreatment? My theory revolves around those who have pets are more likely to be more caring and express love rather than hate. I am speaking of this personally because we have somewhat recently acquired a kitten and she has not only made me change psychologically but in some cases physiologically. I think this is because those who seek a pet want to care. You do not buy a pet because you hate.
Lamo kids like the columbine guys kill their pets all the time, their parents pets anyway. Its because they are weak, get picked on at school, and take it out on something that can't fight back or talk. When they run out of pets they go nuts and shoot up the school. I don't think I want any "research" done that gives loser kids animals to see what they do with them if thats where this is headed...
dont worry man, it is not headed that way. i see your point. my theory revolves around if people get a pet they are more likely to be caring a thoughtfull. if i see what you are saying, they are fucked from the getgo.
It is a misconception that the Collumbine kids were sadistic monsters. The kids themselves apparently were "ok" until the other kids at school get done chewing them up and spitting them out. That sort of punishment can twist anybody. Most people think bullying consists of insults and a few "bookchecks". Not in the highschool I went to back in the stoneages. I came home with bruises and cuts on a daily basis. Something they used to do was put a couple of locks in a plastic newspaper bag and use it like a morning star. I even got knifed on one occasion. (just a slash across the ribs, thank god) The kids responsible for the Collumbine shootings were basically driven nuts and just wanted to stop the pain. They did the shootings to kill the institution that allowed that much pain to fall upon them moreso than the people. Kind of the postalworker syndrome. I know how they felt and a cat or a dog wouldn't have helped one iota.
The columbine kids belonged to a group of nine. They were hardly complete outcasts, they drove around in expensive cars given to them by their parents...I don't know but they did not seem to be anymore ostracized than any other kids from their school, from all accounts given. I don't remember ever reading about them experiencing direct violence (doesn't mean it didn't happen though) Even still to plan a murder rampage one year in advance...they didn't just snap. With all you went through Clockwood you still didn't resort to violence did you?
Freud's body should exhumed and hung for his efforts at removing individual responsibility. We are all victims of something, and thanks to Sigmund Fraud, we can't be held accountable for our actions. There's always someone else to blame.
Picture this: Before you can enroll in college, you have to fill in this form: Do you own Pets ? YES / NO If YES, are these MAMMALS / REPTILES / SPIDERS ? Do you prefer to wear black clothes ? YES / NO Do you play Quack Deathmatch ? YES / NO If YES, are you good at it ? YES / NO Is Black/Death Metal or Goth your favourite music YES / NO Do you consider yourself to be a JOCK / PREP / GOITH / OTHER If OTHER please specify : ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ok, i am tossing around some blatantly obvious stereotypes here, but I think it could be usefull to do some pre-emptive psychological testing
if they did have a pet it might've been a brendel pit with strong jaws capible of mass damage, or a perhana(sp) perhaps, no cute cuddly kitties tough
Dr. Lou: How are they lamos? I cheered when I heard of the shootings - finally, someone's cleaning the filth out of high schools. There are too many humans on this planet anyways. The real culprits are the brats who tormented them for years. Not that I'm excusing them - simply praising them. As for the question, Hitler had a German Shepard. Edmund Kemper was a member of Save the Whales. Having a pet isn't necessarily a sign of decency.
You are right, Bush has a dog, but you could make an overall score card with multiple indicators and just give a +1 for having a pet and a -1 for havoing none, the addition of all the indicators might give you a statistically valid score. This is the thing insurance companies have been doing for a long time for their risk assesment and how to calculate what kind of money their clients have to pay to be insured.... Surely risk assesment could be applied to high schools as well
