Hello my friends. I may soon either 1. outlive you or 2. die earlier than you; Why you may ask? I've been testing some data out I found online, it claims coffee is good for you and will help you more than hurt you. Refer here http://men.webmd.com/features/coffee-new-health-food

So for around 3 months I've been drinking coffee every day, not just 1 cup but multiple cups! I've had probably 3-4 cups a day.... with sugar, cream :}~ anyways it's real neat. The question is this.... am I in better or worse health?

I'd say the coffee makes me feel good, but over-all my health hasn't improved either. I still feel somewhat odd and I think I've actually gained weight! Oddly coffee seems to increase my fat, when considering it has caffinee you would expect it to help you loose weight :? Maybe the cream or sugar ehh?

Anyways I was just wanting to say it will make you gain weight so avoid it..... also it doesn't really produce noticable effects, except maybe that I can't live without it now.

What are you, some sort of wuss? I have one mug an hour while at work, and have done for years. And never less than six a day when I'm not at work.

I doubt it's the coffee that made you gain weight. If anything, you should lose weight, because it burns so much sugar. But then again, maybe you gained weight because you overcompensate for the blood-sugar drop. I would suggest that when you drink a lot of coffee, and your blood sugar goes really low, don't overeat or eat too much sugar.

What about with my coffee? Should I use sugar in there?

Do not tease me soooo there is a female I like who was outside, she's older and sweet, she said nothing to me though :L I believe she has a grand social life which excludes her possibly being interested in me. Also there is another outside, she's less interesting but her body is amazing... still I have no chance to gain her favour either :(

I love coffee.... its just like doing speed.

but i have a kidney stone... so i cant over indulge.

coffee... increases calcium output in the urine..

so stay hydrated... or... you may develop a stone over time.

What about with my coffee? Should I use sugar in there? As long as you aren't using absurd or insane amounts of sugar.

Mosheh Thezion brings up a valid point. Coffee is a diuretic, so you need extra water to compensate.

In Cyprus, coffee comes in small cups and is always accompanied by a glass of water.

I never got started on coffee. It has always tasted horrible IMO. Up to a few months ago I never had any caffeine, then I tried a red bull. Since then I've had a lot of energy drinks, they're reaaally good tasting and have more in them than just caffeine for whatever that is worth. At first my thought about the energy was it was strange, I didn't have to motivate myself... I felt like I was cheating. Now I don't feel awake until I have some, something I'm trying to fix.

Anyone else substitute energy drinks for coffee? I like the Sobe types.

I LOVE energy drinks. I don't drink them as much as I used to, because they are expensive, and they have a little bit too much sugar for my liking. I don't really like the big spike and crash that results. Not to mention it's really a strain on the kidneys and pancreas.

I don't care too much for the Sobe ones, but I used to drink No Fear a lot, because that's what they had at the store I go to. I really like Rockstar, Monster, and a few smaller brands that they really only make around here.

A bad thing to do is grinding up No-Doz and dissolving the powder in an energy drink. Never again will I do that.

I hate the taste of coffee... it is total crap..
I make it strong and 10% milk it and add sugar.. and down it quickly once it cools.

I drink it... to get high.

I am honest.

most of america is addicted to coffee and get high on it everyday, but they dont consider it a high anymore... its a daily need for them.

But... with massive consuption... no one seems to be dieing....

so why not eh? It apears to be safe... unless you have stones.

Well the caffeine makes u lost weight and is a diuretic ... However the simple sugars raises your insulin and leads to fat storage... Just drink it with cream and splenda and go with 1 or just 2 tablespoons of cream.

Caffeine is a psychoactive drug and like all psychoactive drugs it has different effects on different people. I know some people who drink a cup of coffee or a pint of cola right before bed and claim it helps them sleep.

Personally I'm extremely sensitive to it and have to treat it as a dangerous drug. Two ounces of Dr. Pepper in a measuring cup on Saturday morning will keep me bouncing off the ceiling the whole weekend. Just the amount of caffeine in a serious chocolate munchie (not the wussy 20% stuff that can legally be sold as "chocolate" in America) makes it impossible to fall asleep and stay asleep, makes me even more overbearing than I normally am, and ruins my judgment. I have to take a powerful sleeping medicine and then I wake up groggy the next morning and the cycle starts over. If I drank a cup of coffee you'd have to peel me off the ceiling or perhaps look for reports of a lunatic screaming at people for parking three inches too far from the curb.

I understand the positive effect of caffeine and sometimes it's worth the down side. When I'm performing music it helps me play more accurately, I can get by with fewer rehearsals. If I go out dancing it keeps me from becoming exhausted halfway through the evening. If I don't feel like mowing the frelling lawn it helps me get outdoors and moving. But I have to stop and think very carefully about what I might have to do tomorrow and be sure the ill effects don't spoil something important, like giving a presentation or just being a good friend.

I've downed a full pot in about an hour and a half and I'm 16. No dramatic weight loss, no dependency and no real effects in terms of keeping me up. I drink either to wake up or because it helps me think straight.

I drink about a pot a day. Black. No sugar. Drop the sugar and cream and you'll be more healthy. Drink lots of water as well. I drink at least as much water as coffee if not more.

Unless you have high-blood pressure, the worst side effect of coffee is stained teeth.
