View Full Version : Cinco de Mayo...Adios...
There are Cinco de Mayo celebrations all over the country today. What a perfect opportunity for ICE to swoop in and round up a couple million criminal aliens. Adios.:D
The nation's newest holiday reminds me that we are not really a nation anymore at all.
Most Americans totally ignore Cinco de Mayo but businesses aren't. They're busy pandering to the new (mostly criminal) faces. Politicians are gleefully joining in to suck up for the votes.
Cinco de Mayo is a celebration of a particular heritage of a particular people (Mexicans) which is why it shouldn't be celebrated here.
Our Forefathers (the white guys who actually fought the War for Independence and wrote the defining political documents of the nation) did not believe they were, should be or could be a "universal nation." John Jay in Federalist No. 2 wrote of the "one united people, a people descended from the same ancestors, speaking the same language, professing the same religion, attached to the same principles of government, very similar in their manners and customs," without whom a common, let alone a free, government could not have existed.
Happy Cinco de May to the citizens of Mexico who are still in Mexico. And to their compadres who are here legally. As for the rest of them (criminal aliens)this is a good time to return home to celebrate their national holiday. Mexico misses them. Americans wouldn’t.
L.A. is having a huge party right now. I sure hope they have enough ICE.;)
And I wonder if Vincente Fox will celebrate the 4th of July.

Have these people no shame?
The mongrelization of this once great nation continues with impunity.
They like socialism in Mexico. But instead of taking from Mexico's rich to give to Mexico's poor, they take from the Americans to give to the Mexicans.
Cinco de Mayo reminds me of 911. Of how our immigration policies that threaten: our form of constitutional government, our culture and political traditions. Third World cesspools are spreading to America. (The Rodney King rioters and looters were mostly Hispanics.) The corruption of American politics from criminal/unassimilated Mexicans invading our borders for half a century has undermined US security.
If ICE had any brains/guts they'd use this stupid holiday as a convenient way to catch, arrest, and deport the parasites. How much easier can it get for them when so many are celebrating in big groups all over the country.
If you've ever talked to any actual Latin Americans, they'll tell you that Cinco de Mayo is largely an American fabrication, used to cell margarita mix and tequila.
You should be double clicking your mouse about the entrepreneurial genius of the slick marketers who abuse your ignorance of culture to turn profit.
Yeah, that's probably why they're celebrating all over Mexico today too.

The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution guarantees the right to Freedom of Association -- the right to choose who you want to hang out with.
American citizens have the right to choose not to associate with illegal aliens.
The Second Amendment guarantees the First.
Michael 05-06-07, 01:35 AM sandy,
What do you think about Chinese New year? Irish Day Parades? How about a bunch of English "white" descendants celebrating a Gay parade?
superstring01 05-06-07, 09:43 AM Yeah, that's probably why they're celebrating all over Mexico today too.
Ah... Sandy... Cinco de Mayo is largly ignored in Mexico, except in two cities. It's really ho-hum there. American's have latched onto it more than Mexicans have. More importantly-- the country that celebrats Cinco de Mayo the most is the USA. The point: More white Americans celebrate Cinco de Mayo than actual Mexicans. But you are right when you say it's all about marketing-- that's EXACTLY what it is, and since Americans LOVE marketing, it's natural that we are (unfortunately) more succeptible.

Spent a lot of time south of the Border Legally as fully insured by the Federal Police in Mexico, and at the cost of a little mordita, and they seem to have a hell of a party for being a minor holiday.

Mexico
Cinco de Mayo is viewed as a relatively minor holiday in most of Mexico, and it is observed, if at all, in varying degrees.[1][2] The holiday is celebrated vigorously in Puebla, Puebla, where the battle was fought, and throughout the state of Puebla; celebration is more limited or non-existent in the rest of the country.[3] For the most part the celebrations combine food, drink, music and dancing.
United States
In the United States, Cinco de Mayo has taken on a significance beyond that in Mexico.[4] Commercial interests in the United States have capitalized on the celebration, advertising Mexican products and services, with an emphasis on beverages, foods, and music.[5] The date is perhaps best recognized in the United States as a date to celebrate the culture and experiences of Americans of Mexican ancestry, much as St. Patrick's Day, Oktoberfest, and the Chinese New Year are used to celebrate those of Irish, German, and Chinese ancestry, respectively. As a result, the holiday is observed by many Americans regardless of ethnic origins, especially in cities and states where there is a large population of Mexican ancestry. Although it is not an official holiday, many cities with large populations of Mexican ancestry honor the day as a symbolic representation of Mexican pride and as a representation of a culture that blends both Mexican and American roots. Celebrations tend to draw both from traditional Mexican symbols, such as the Virgin de Guadalupe, and from prominent figures of Mexican descent in the United States, such as César Chávez.
It appears that I am 100% correct, and you are dumb.

Are you challenging the information from the source you provided?
Btw, have you ever had mezcal? I'm not sure what the difference between it and tequila is (production-wise), but it's really good. Real smoky.
