It's a game really, a simple one. You're in class at Virginia Tech and enjoying a quite day amoung your fellow students. You joke and jest about the homeless beggar you saw on the street the day earlier, you laugh about the upcoming dance + baseball game. You speak together about many things, occasionally answering a call on your cell phone from your friends. You then notice bangs, not loud but close. You wonder what on Earth can be going on at this hour, is it the school band?! Just then Cho appears... he looks calm and cool, collected even. You admire his wardrobe as he begins firing randomly, not looking but just seeing...

You are a trained expert in hand-to-hand combat. You are a martial artist... do you run out the window avoiding his gunfire, or do you attack and risk your life to save others? You have only 2 choices, run or attack... if you choose attack tell us with how and what, if you run tell us why.

Also upon attacking (should you choose to) would you eliminate him or hold him until authorities arrived?

Considering that he would probably be much younger than me (which he was) and probably stronger (due to my advance age), I'd pick up the longest and heaviest object available - perhaps a chalkboard pointer stick and wait just inside the door.

If he opened it, I'd give him the hardest whack possible on the bridge of his nose. That could quite possibly kill him but it wouldn't matter to me in the least - taking him out of action is ALL that matters.

But if he passed by, I'd quickly and quietly follow and use the same procedure, possibly on the back of the neck if I could. SInce he was showing no mercy, neither would I.

Read-Only, so would you eliminate him after you subdued him or hold the poor fellow?

What the heck is this love for friggin martial arts all the time (not you specifically sderenzi... I mean every time someone asks a question like this)

How come my hypothetical self can't have something reasonable like a GUN. It always has to be karate, or brass knuckles, or nunchucks, or a katana, or magical dragonball powers, or something...preferably something asian in origin. It's never anything reasonable like a damn gun LOL

No, if he was still alive after I hit him, fine. But I'd have one of his guns on him if he woke up and decided to move. And the first lunge (if he made one) towards me would be his last act of life. But if he decided to sit quitely, no, I wouldn't harm him at all. There would be a needle with his name on it waiting for him but I still wouldn't choose to be his executioner.

Your hypothetical situation is flawed. I decline to comment except to say this:

He'd have shot you before you got near him.
