I am not excited about bands anymore, because I am old and there is Youtube. Anyhow, this supergroup actually got me excited and accidentally they are coming to town. So I went to see the tickets, and guess what? The cheapest ticket is $200, but I could buy a $480 one too. But seriously! $200 for a summertime concert? And one usually doesn't want to go alone, of course. I would rather buy 20 CDs and 2-3 DVDs for that amount with the members' bands than paying for a 2 hours entertainment. Robbery....
Wow, that's expensive, but I guess they do have some very big-name people. Not worth it in my opinion. The only way I would pay that much for a concert is if I really liked the band and I had a better-paying job. But I wouldn't pay $200 unless I could get a decent seat. I would never pay that much for lawn tickets.
There are few bands/musicians I would pay $200 to see. Right now it's pretty much limited to Jimmy Buffett, The Eagles, and Rolling Stones. I would consider paying that much to see Chickenfoot, though, because it sounds like pretty good music.
I paid $350 for my Coachella tickets, but that was for all 3 days. $200 for one show? I'd better get a few naked groupies included with that for that price. Maybe I'd pay that price if like...Hendrix rose from the dead for one show only.
Videos of the band started to show up on Youtube. You can pretty much watch their whole repetoire without paying $200. They are pretty good, buying their CD good, but not $200 good.... Here, they are playing their best song, Highway Star: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2WUnXiU-40&feature=related Oh wait!!!! Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
$200? I might pay that to see the Doors original line up, Led Zep original Line up, and probably Jethro Tull. So I guess i'm saying I will pay 200 for a time machine to the late 60's. I'd rather pay 200 to kick a scalper in the nuts, to be completely honest.
