    Greetings...

OK.. some time back I asked about some chess software that I could get that would NOT require me to have the disc to play. I was pointed in the direction of the Chessmaster series. So... I got Chessmaster 900.. and.. lo and behold.. I still need the darn disc to play.
    What's up?
Is there a no cd crack or something?
Absolutely any help would be appreciated here....
P.S. Yes, I did the full install
    TIA

Pretty much everything has a crack available. Check P2P.

I'd recommend Bobby Fischer Teaches Chess, which has a tutorial for how to play chess (from beginner to advanced stratagies), and has a chess program you can play against that I think is one of the best (most difficult).
    Also, have you tried searching?
Another possibility is getting a NES or SNES emulator and getting the Chessmaster ROM.

If you want to play against other people instead of a computer, I'd suggest Yahoo Chess

I use Yahoo chess too much. It seems to work well though sometimes I have to stop BitComet from running in the background. I wonder if you could find any free programs at http://www.download.com ?

Gnuchess + xboards works pretty well, or slibo instead of xboards if you prefer flashy-ness.

BitComet? Is that spyware or something? You know, there's cures for that...

Hrm, yeah you're right. I shoulda figured that considering it started with "bit". I was thinking of the CometCursor, and it's variations.
