I know I'm not striking while the iron is hot here, but I just came across this little piece on GagWatch. I mean, are you fricking KIDDING with me? Michelle Malkin is such douchebag. The Article goes on to explain: It's a goddamned paisley scarf for Vishnu's sake! Oye-veh. ~String
It's possible that she's just ignorant as Malkin says however more than likely she's a Neo-Nazi making a political statement.
Yesssss. Rachel Ray, has embarked on her secret plan to take over the world through Islamic fashion! First the Food Network, tomorrow the world! ~String
Darn it - I only just got my electronic WooWoo detector back from being fixed and it exploded again the moment I visited this thread. I hope visiting this site doesn't invalidate the warranty
Wow, that story was hard to believe but it seems to have really happened. I knew we in the USA and humans in general are idiots but it seems we are even stupider than I realized.
That is dumb, but wearing something that vaguely resembles a keffiyeh but is clearly not a keffiyeh or even a design of Middle-Eastern origin = supporting terrorism is even dumber.
American Affairs Desk I picked up on this when Marc Kauffman posted the latest American Affairs Desk cartoon. It made no sense, so I tracked down the story and just sat there, wondering if I was reading a real story, until I realized that it really looks like Salem, Oregon. I had one of those, "Hey, I've been there!" moments. I'm not sure whether that says more about the story, or me.
That scarf doesn't look like the same scarf in the other photo in supersring's link. The way she wore the scarf and the fringe don't look look very Palestinian to me. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image![/QUOTE]
Its not Palestinian, its nomad Arab. And its keffiyeh chic or desert chic for women (who don't normally wear one, they wear the female version, called taraha), so obviously its been designed to look more feminine.
I think she is cute on her show. It is not her looks as much as it is something about her personality that is cute. I can't even recognize her in the photo above.
The picture is squished. Either that or they attempted to give her the Star Jones after gastric bypass thin look.
I personally am offended by her support of Dunkin donuts. Unhealthy food abused by children and police alike. Poor labor practices. If her scarf would make more than .00001% of the popular think of nomadic arab wear, nomadic arabs should boycott dunkin donuts when it comes to their portion of the Middle East, which it will soon as part of the Oasis Mall or whatever.
Where have you been? The Arabs already have Dunkin Donuts Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
It's about the gag reflex many people get seeing that scarf because of what many people know it for (mainly, violent Jihad). She is a stupid celebrity, completely ignorant of the fact, which would sort of get her off the hook but does not reduce the gag reflex. It reminds me of when Cameron Diaz went to Peru and wore a "trendy" handbag with the "Shining Path" logo on it. That group is responsible for tens of thousands of deaths through its "revolutionary struggle" of terrorism. It was the same case. Either a mindless celebrity "activism" for things she understands nothing about but pretends to fully understand, and try to "raise awareness", or it's complete celebrity ignorance, to which she may be excused for but still does not reduce the gag reflex. I honestly can't believe the woman is that stupid and clueless about world events. Either way, she is on my idiot list.
gag reflex? You mean the kind that white racists get on seeing a black man or neo-Nazis get when they see a kippah? I'd ignore the pukers. I certainly would not blame anyone for wearing a kippah.
Probably not the nomadic ones, whom I clearly referred to and who I believe you said originated the article of clothing. The verb 'have' to my ears implies 'in their area of residence'. But perhaps having business in fixed locations should be seen as passe and perhaps mobile Dunkin Donuts already exist. To further quibble, I would say that Dunkin Donuts has the Arabs, rather than the converse. If the DD is there, that means that the local arabs, likely not nomadic ones, are spending money to eat unhealthy food rather than spending it on food made by other local arabs in some of the vast diversity of ways we used to make food before global chains cut down the options. I am sure SAM, given your apparant verbal facility, you are aware of the phrase 'to be had'. Anyone eating at that place more than once has been had. And even if I had meant that Arab countries and arab neighborhoods did not have DDs - which I was under no illusion about - it is certainly not an insulting idea. Any neighborhood that did not support a DDs IOW did not buy much of their unhealthy products would deserve kudos. Sadly Arabs, like everyone else, seem drawn into a Disneyworld of virtual tastes and virtual culture.
I want to tp and egg Michelle Malkin's house, but I'm sure she will be a terroristic plot in the whole thing. I'm more upset that she was listened to.
