Hello,
We do celebrate birthdays and marriage anniverseries at all age. Why we do that at all age. Is is for an celebration of event or celebration for progress in health and reproduction?
We shall be progressing towards health and reproduction upto ceratain age, but opposite after certain age. Former can be enjoying but later(?).
As such, which celebration can really be appropriate, going up in health and vitality or going down in these?
Best wishes.

It keeps me from having Alzheimer's for it keeps my memories on alert as to when an important event is going to happen. ;)

I love birthdays. We have a rule that on your birthday you rule the house. We eat what you want, do what you want, no chores, etc. Basically you are ruler of the house for a day. I think the kids like it better than xmas.
Good thought. That can be suited to all ages.
Still, there should be a purpose for celebrations, remembrence or happiness. Happyness can be when you are gaining or intend to gain--somewhat reward expectations. Is it there in celebrating birthdays and marriage anniverseries in older age?

what?? No! Celebrations are supposed to be fun, not all purposeful and analyzed. My families birthdays are more about that person, and them having their own day, not being another year older. The day of their birth was all about them to our family. So its all about them again.
Our wedding anniversary is not that big a deal to my husband and I. We already do so much together w/o the kids, that its just another day like that.
Father/Mothers Day is a big deal too. Its like my husband and I get another birthday
It's an excuse for a party.
