    Lately I've been stuck spending more and more time on the computer and as a result I started getting severe carpal tunnel syndrome in my right wrist.

    This was due to the use of my mouse. In short, nerves are the most vulnerable in joints because they have to slide by a tight space to continue on to the next muscle set to innervate. When using a normal mouse our wrist is turned from the resting position (hand parallel to the saggital plane [how it hangs at your side]) and we inadvertently put pressure on the median nerve. Depending on your genetics, this is either a tight or a very very tight squeeze into the hand. Mine is very tight and the added work on the PC finally did me in. Added to all of that I've been typing sloppily for years. I almost never use my ring finger (fourth finger) and even rarer use my little finger / pinky.

    So, after getting an ergonomic desk and chair I went for a mouse and keyboard.

    result = zero pain.

    No more carpal tunnel.

    That said, retraining to type on my new keyboard is a bitch! Don't get me wrong, I've had the keyboard for 1 week now and I love it. And I'm up to about 30% of my old speed and am using ALL of my fingers now. Which, for me is a pretty cool feeling to look at the screen and rarely if ever look at the keyboard AND use all 5 fingers. Sometimes, when I'm in the groove, I can type faster than before.

    As for the mouse - I LOVE this mouse even more than the keyboard. I simply can not go back to the old mouse. 1 day on an old mouse and I was crippled. I have to use this mouse. It hurt the inside of my palm for about 1 week but that went away and I think it was just new muscles getting used to the grip.

    If you have any problems in your wrist or any pain from typing I would suggest tying these two ergonomic products. They are pretty pricey but for me I intend to buy another set for working at home.

    NOTE: If you do a lot of graphic design then you may have to reconfigure the hot keys on the keyboard. I find working with Photoshop and Premier a little slower (which is fine for me as I don't spend all day on them only now and again).
