Where I live there's a canoeing school neaby. They pass a certain part of the river at a certain time every other day. Now, I got this crazy idea, why not get a group of people together and dress up as a huge loch ness monster thing and scare the canoers when they pass, and film it, of course.
Then they would all flip over in shear horror when the monster emerged from the water in front of them. ( if it works according to the plan)
Well, it's too mean to actually do it, they could panic and die. But me and my friends had a huge laugh about the idea anyway.
Have you ever taken a similar mindtrip?

Every year there are always beginning canoers. A lot of times I got a laugh off the beginners who would make a 10 mile float out of a 5 mile trip. Then there where the hard spots. Used to go through them and then turn the canoe around backwards to watch. There has been many an interesting photo as folks were going under. Also many a sad face as car keys were lost, wallets, and in strong currents I even saw a canoe broken in half after it had sunk and the current had pinned the canoe against a stump.

We used to float the calm areas with legs in the others canoe and 4 or 5 canoes would float as a raft. If a bad place came you pick up your leg and everyone breaks apart. Whoever had the ice chest of beer would pass a beer on the flat of the paddle. Lay back, drink, float along and listen to music. By yourself, beanbags were also in fashion as you could put it in the end of the canoe and have comfortable resting place... http://www.teamcoldfusion.nl/smilies/boos/nono.gifhttp://www.teamcoldfusion.nl/smilies/diverse/offtopic.gif

Sounds fabulastic! The reason that we came up with ways to scare them was of course that we were envious.

This reminds me of the time when I forced to fend off that devilish lake monster using only a wooden paddle and my pocket knife. I was conoeing up in the Cascades.
