Well, members of the Philosophy forum, I ask you to place your votes on me. In return, I will moderate the Philosophy forums with a light but steady hand. I will not go about deleting every swear word I find, but I will discourage personal attacks with everything within my power. I will do my best to encourage intelligent debate within the Philosophy forums.

Just a few minor points. I love philosophy, that's no news. I love sciforums, that's no news. And there's little I find wrong with this forum right now. I think General Philosophy is in great shape, especially compared to some of the rocky times we've seen. There have been times when threads full of little more than chit-chat have filled sciforums and it is these times, I believe, when a moderator is truly necessary and helpful.

Threads like this:

Basically, threads which truly have no actual philosophy involved in them. Swearing and personal insults don't seem to be anything of a problem in the philosophy section, so I doubt I'd do much involving that. Useless threads and the odd bad personal attack will, however, be dealt with.

Vote for me and those guys with submachine guns won't shoot you as you step out of the voting booth.

In addition, I'll keep things civilized and intelligent here. No spam will occur on my watch, and nonsense threads will be deleted. Members will be free to express themselves within the limits of the most liberal standards - I'm not going to censor swear words. Flame wars will be kept from interfering with discussion, but I'm certainly not going to go on some fascist power trip or treat you guys like kindergardeners. You're adults, I shall treat accordingly.
