Hi, I want to buy a bottle of wine for a friend studying in Washington DC for Christmas, but the stupid online American webshops I found on Google keep telling me that my Visa has to be issued by a US bank, etc. nonsense. Can you suggest an internet shop that would work in my situation? Thanks!
You can search for stores in the area and call them to make the order, i am sure they will ship it too. They probably just get too much fraud from overseas.
Have you tried google? http://maps.google.com/maps?client=...&oi=local_group&resnum=1&ct=more-results&cd=1
I've just bought a laptop from a US website; I had to send them a scan of both sides of my UK credit card plus, one of my passport.
Thanks for the link, John, but the only website which seemed to accept by card wanted to charge $36 just for delivering next door. Morons.
Stupid, I know. I usually buy stuff from the US via my friends there, but this time I need to buy something for those friends. Horrible service.
The other day i had to wait for a phone call from retailer in the U.K. before they would process my order. Avatar, my cousin uses this place: http://yellowpages.superpages.com/profile~SRC_local~LID_WbWewoDaP2J9BHy3qRm Xw==~lbp_1.htm They deliver but ask them how much before you tell them you are out of the country.
It's understandable, considering the amount of credit card fraud; I would probably do the same, considering that I already have enough local business in any case.
Well, I have bought goods from France, UK, Germany, Portugal and Poland and nobody cared to check my id. Any way, I understand that they probably have good reasons, but I don't understand those sellers which don't take foreign orders. It's lost business.
