Just came across this little beauty. The above link will allow you to download the video which is only 895 kb. Or you can use the following link to view it in your web browser. Be warned, it wouldn't work with Firefox. I bet it's because I blocked the popunder survey.

Heh. That's even better. Cuts it right to the chase.

You get sounds with the video clip though. And more of a feel of his smarmy character and all the laughing jackals in the background.

When was this? Does anyone know? He looks younger.

It was when he was, or was running for the position of Governor of Texas. I don't know the date.

I wonder why he did it.

It is real? It could be easily edited. He's probably saying 'fuck you' to the world while pondering World War III.

It is real?

Impromptu is generally considered the most authentic action.

If you watch the full clip, it leaves little doubt that it is real. The context is unknown though. Just the frat boy inside peeking through.

Reminds me of Negativlands U2 single, which had smuggled Casey kasem (America's Top 40) outtakes where he was cursing out his studio crew. One of them was when he was doing an intro for a U2 song, and he said, "They're just another band from Britain, and who gives a shit!"

Allright, it's free for the downloading if you want to hear it! http://www.negativland.com/audiogadgets.html Track 2 - Special Edit Radio Mix is where you really hear Casey cut loose!

My god, you people amaze me.
He gave the finger? That's worthy of talking about? I don't know if this is evidence of american stupidity in general or just bush-haters. If I saw Paul Martin (note for those Americans who don't know shit all about world politics: Canada's PM) give the finger I'd laugh and forget about it three seconds later. You know why? Because it doesn't mean a fucking thing. Everyone, save very few, has given the finger or said fuck you or made a joke with a swear word in it or something unbelievably minor to the same effect. And no one gives a shit except raving christian moral rightists. So unless you're part of that category I can't fathom how you saw Bush give the finger and put anything more than a quarter of a second of thought to it.

Same with picking the nose. It's maybe slightly more taboo than giving the finger - but is it really that funny? Like are we all five again? Would you post a thread about John Kerry if you saw him kiss a girl? What about hte potential of coodies?

Jesus Christ, I don't know who's more pathetic Bush supporters or haters.

I don't know what kind of half baked Bannana Republic you're from Tyler, but over here our "politicos" acting obscenely on TV's a political no-no.

I'm glad we could amuse you Tyler. The reason this has importance is because it represents the real GW shining through the facade. The immature bully who has never worked a day in his life. Who probably throws trantrums when he does not get his way. The goddamn blueblood ivy league frat boy who shouldn't have been able to be elected dog catcher, much less president of the U.S.

I've had friends who think it is funny to flip each other off. To me, it is a sign of junior high mentality. I can let it slide in my friends, but I expect better from the Commander in Chief of the U.S.

Off-Topic Rant of the Day

Things that make you want to puke. “After winning re-election and ‘reshaping the rules of politics to fit his 10-gallon-hat leadership style,’ President George Bush for the second time was chosen as Time magazine's Person of the Year.”

I wouldn’t have a problem with this if Time had justified their selection by citing Lieutenant AWOL’s staggering incompetence, ability to lie with a straight face on any topic, monumental arrogance, contempt for American democracy, smear-job campaign style, or any of the other characteristics that define this miserable specimen of ignorant and spoiled rich kid.

Instead, TIME opts to suck up to the worst president in American history. I therefore award the TIME magazine editorial staff YD’s coveted Brown Nose of the Year Award.

That's my point. If I ran any Banana Republic (man I'd be so wealthy) I'd try and work it so no one gave a shit about useless things like this. Think Clinton ever gave the finger? Or Carter? Hows aboot JFK?

When I'm evaluating a leader of anything, I'd do so on the basis of what his accomplishments are. If the CEO of the company I've invested in pulled in a 300% raise in productivity but I found out he gave the finger (though I don't know the context one bit) fourteen years ago you know what I'd say? Awsome 300% increase in productivity! (And no, I'm not saying Bush has been successful - I can't stand what he's done - but the point is you judge on merit).

It's this little perversion Americans as a mass seem to have (note: gross generalization based on media). It's like how the wives of the candidates get so much attention. Who gives a fuck? Or the fact that Cheney has a lesbian daughter. If Paul Martin had a gay beastiality porn loving son I wouldn't give a shit. You know why? Because all I care about is how he is as a PM.

It's amazing. I won't generalize you, Roman, because I frankly know nothing about you. But, many (in fact most) of the people I know who went on and on about this stupid flippin' the bird and other little political no-no's were the same folk who said "aw who gives a fuck, so he got a blow job!" The same people who don't believe in this stupid populus-appeasing bullshit seem to rag on Bush everytime he does something that the populus bullshit don't like.

So just so we're clear....
Anyone who has swore in the past 15 years or so is immature and should not be elected to public office or something to that effect?

Who probably throws trantrums when he does not get his way.

Ya got anything to back up your belief?

Anyone who swore? No. Anyone who flipped people off like he was Kid Rock posing for Rolling Stone? Yes, disqualified.

The larger the mob, the harder the test. In small areas, before small electorates, a first-rate man occasionally fights his way through, carrying even the mob with him by force of his personality. But when the field is nationwide, and the fight must be waged chiefly at second and third hand, and the force of personality cannot so readily make itself felt, then all the odds are on the man who is, intrinsically, the most devious and mediocre — the man who can most easily adeptly disperse the notion that his mind is a virtual vacuum.

The Presidency tends, year by year, to go to such men. As democracy is perfected, the office represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. We move toward a lofty ideal. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron. - H.L. Mencken, a true clairvoyant.

What difference is there between saying 'fuck you' and giving the finger? Expecially when you don't know the context at all?

I ask out of curiosity, I'm not assuming you don't have an answer.

I don't care whether or not anyone gives the bird; it's whether they have the audacity to do it on television. Someone who cares about moral values, the family, and whose party threw such a tantrum over some titty oughtn't be such a hypocrite.

Besides, did Bill get a blowjob on television?

In the right circumstances, anyone can let fly with some choice words.
But what we see here is the immature frat boy peeking through. This little incident, never meant for public consumption, is a tell on the true character of this man.

Like most of us, however, there's more than one side to George W. As funny as his remarks about putting food on your family and women not staining the house might be, there's quite an unfunny and dark side to George W. Bush, Presidential Candidate. It's been reported that George W. does a rather creditable impression of the Austin Powers villain, Dr. Evil. Now it turns out that he also did a rather mean spirited imitation of Karla Faye Tucker who, as you may remember, was a convicted double murderer and one of the very few women ever put to death by the State of Texas. Tucker became a Christian during the many years she was on death row and gained national attention with her pleas for clemency. Bush made fun of Tucker while discussing her case for Talk magazine with reporter Tucker Carlson. During the interview, George W. mocks Carla Faye's plea to save her life as he feigns desperation and whimpers, "Please don't kill me". For a man who claims to have had a religious conversion of his own, George W. shows little proof that he deserves the "Compassionate Conservative" banner he so proudly waves.

Where is the difference? Anyone can say fuck and anyone can give the finger, I don't know what the difference is and you haven't shown it. You say it's more immature - but how, why, and what validation is there for the claim?

See there's the difference between us, it's the tv part. I'm going to assume you wouldn't give a shit if Bush gave the finger fourteen years ago to his brother, so the property that makes this worthy of even the slightest thought is that he did it on tv. Once again, my position is that if Martin pulled down his pants and told the interviewer to kiss his hairy arse fourteen years ago I wouldn't give a shit. I'd still judge him on the (crappy) job he's done in office. Why? Because that is the only thing that's had a practical effect on the world in any way.

You can say that the finger is just a statement on his character- that's fine, I don't care. If you're criticizing him as a person, then I also don't give a shit, but htat's fine. But to criticize him as a president or politician - look to how he's performed as a politician, because that's what matters. Or, at least, to me what matters is what effects the world.

Anyway - Clinton talked about family values too, and he cheated on his wife. I'd rather my wife flip the bird than suck another guy off. To me, Clinton much more strongly made a blatant breaking of "traditional family values". So - there ya go, he's more of a hypocrite than Bush.
