View Full Version : Burger King vs McDonald's
darksidZz 06-08-07, 10:39 AM Just vote my slaves, voteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
I chose Burger King, the reason I prefer that over McDonald's is simple, they use fire to cook their meat, frying it is questionable.. I don't see how they can make certain fried meat is cooked thoroughly, where-as flamed meat is easily cooked and kills more dangerous stuff.
shorty_37 06-08-07, 10:42 AM Burger King is better but its out of the way.......so its Mcdonalds just because its closer.
But I try not to eat that crap very often.....but my son likes the toys in the happy meal.
darksidZz 06-08-07, 10:44 AM I knew you would fall into my trap Nickelodeon... I added the Other; Comment option to lure you in! I would have preferred this only be a war between BK or MC but knew some might not want to decide, that is the reason for a third option. I however do not care about other choices, only the 2 above... anyone can find a small resturant and get better burgers, the question is if you were forced to eat 1 of the 2 which would it be!
I'll get anyone who votes Other; Comment eventually :p
shorty_37 06-08-07, 10:49 AM Fast food make you fat.

take the other option out or everyone will just choose other, because "other" is a very broad option and i doubt peopled fav meals of all time are either BK or mc donalds.
i choose other, but i will select burger king because i dont want to ruin your experiment. burger king is just better quality theres nothing more to it.
mc donalds is like eating a steamed ham, it doesent taste fried or grilled, it tastes either steamed or bioled with no flavour,
and why do they always put pickles in the burger i hate that,
peace.
EmptyForceOfChi 06-08-07, 10:54 AM i dont eat fast food.
i never used to but i admit i do now and again if im in a rush, eating fast food once a month or a bit more wont hurt you. aslong as you stay within your RDA then its ok,
peace.
EmptyForceOfChi 06-08-07, 10:55 AM Fast food make you fat.
not working out makes you fat.
peace.
Nikelodeon 06-08-07, 10:55 AM Guzzling fat makes you fat.
not working out makes you fat.
That's why I work out, too. But diet is more important than anything.

ashpwner 06-08-07, 11:12 AM i prefer small buisnes one that are not brand named
EmptyForceOfChi 06-08-07, 11:16 AM That's why I work out, too. But diet is more important than anything.
the diet is very important. but i wouldent say it was more important than being active and working out.
it depends on peoples metabolism, because somebody with a very slow met can seem to be eating a regular diet, but without alot of working out he could gain mass and become fat.
i have trained people who ate the same as me and looked like shit because they have a slow met, and the only thing that helped was a combined diet and workout plan.
i guess bieng active and a diet are both just as important, they compliment each other,
example- say a bodybuilder wants to increase muscle size, if he just worked out alone without protein intake and amino acids he would get nowhere,
and the same happens in reverse order, if he just eats and does not workout he will see no results,
peace.
EmptyForceOfChi 06-08-07, 11:17 AM i prefer small buisnes one that are not brand named
because its home cooking, and you cant beat a family home cooked meal.
peace.

fishtail 06-08-07, 11:29 AM The one time i bought a burger from one of those places ( think it was Mac Ds) the meat shot out on to the floor when i bit into it, the yucky sauce
must act as a lubricant, never again.
Burger king burgers and McDonalds fries are a good combo. With a coke of course.
RubiksMaster 06-08-07, 11:44 PM I used to work at McDonald's, so I'm a little tired of it. Burger King is a refreshing change (relatively speaking. Fast food is never really "refreshing").
Dark520 06-08-07, 11:47 PM Burger King fries are definitely the best fries in all the land, but the McDonalds Chicken Nuggets put all others to shame, lol.
Other-
weed_eater_guy 06-09-07, 12:18 AM When I worked at Mickey-D's one summer, I used to get a meal of a Ranch BLT, the fish sandwich, fries, and a coke every lunch, since lunch was free (and to thing I ONLY put on 5 pounds from that, lol). It's actually pretty tasty when you can cook the stuff yourself. Now that I'm free of that torment of working a summer alongside deadbeats, mexicans, and teenie-boppers, I cringe at both Mc D's and Burger King, even though their chicken sandwiches are both good, I hate thinking of how the make them. Fry, slap, slap, slap, inject sauce with the caulk-gun-thingie, wrap, throw, serve!
They also seem to have equally distasteful ad campaigns. Burger King makes many ads that are just non-sensical and even creepy, while McDonalds makes ads like they're the key to success. 'I started my career at McDonalds and now I'm a proud member of the workforce, i help my community, blah blah bullshit bullshit..." Lemme tell you, the only thing working at McDonalds told me where these few things...
-Strive for something better, working at McD's SUCKS, try standing over a hot fry-cooker for a couple hours, see if you can stomach french fries ever again. The disgusting smell of spattering cooking oil... god...
-Some mexicans will outright refuse to try learning enough english to work at the counter or drive through. They're also the Mexicans that no matter what you're watching in the break room, they scold you in Spanish if you don't let them change it to their favorite mexican soap. Don't get me wrong, I'm actually all for Mexicans comming in our work force, but when I see them actively refuse to learn a competant level of english... *pounds head into desk repeatedly*
-Fast food managers-in-training are the biggest dicks to ever grace the slime-ridden floors of your fine fast food establishments. They've gotten to where they don't have competant managing methods yet, but they still think they're above everyone else in the whole place. Plus, HOW ABOUT A RAISE, not a freakin STICKER on my NAME TAG!!! WTF! A sticker?! What am I, a toodler? Did I paint a picture of a bunny? No, I freaking ran a drive through line with only two other people after a concert nearby let out, I had to stay four extra hours that night to deal with an endless slew of hungry potheads going "yooooo maaaannn..... ummmm....I want... uhhhh.....oh man... are you serving breakfast?...." "it's 11 at night, what do you think?" "i dunno maaannn... I 'm just so fuckin gone right now, jahaha...." I get a sticker. A sticker. A STICKER. which brings me to the next subject...
-Ronald McDonald now looks more evil to me than ever before. This shitty place still uses a happy-happy-oh-boy-gee-golly-kids-I'm-having-so-much-fun-I-could-squeal! mascot. Every time I went home with hands burnt from fry grease, mexican soap operas stuck in my head, feet hurting like hell, in a town I never been in before and was only there for a summer, going home to sleep, eat, watch TV and go to work the next day, I walk out every night seeing that asshole's face SOMEWHERE on the premises. Honestly, it's like McDonald ad agencies have no souls or something...
Yeah, I kinda hate them both, cause I'll bet someone out there thinks similar things about Burger King and the King in the giant fiberglass head-thingie that looks creepy as hell. Grr... ahh, it's the wee hours, no wonder I'm ranting... lol

What a wonderful vignette lol
weed_eater_guy 06-09-07, 12:29 AM why thank you :) I'm pretty tired and just felt like getting that off, lol
madanthonywayne 06-09-07, 12:30 AM Burger king burgers and McDonalds fries are a good combo. With a coke of course.
Exactly. Burger King's burgers are a little better due to the flame broiling. But McDonald's fries are way better.
RubiksMaster 06-09-07, 12:35 AM McDonald's fries are definitely better.
When I worked there, I knew someone who got fired for stealing an order of fries for his friend.
Exhumed 06-09-07, 12:50 AM I'd never eat at either unless it was an abnormal situation, like a road trip. Even if it wasn't too unhealthy for me, fast food isn't a bargain.
I like Subway. I don't eat their very often to save money, but I like to go in when the sub of the day is something I like.
Turkey breast + Ham + Lettuce + tomato + olive + honey mustard hits the spot for me.
Oh, and for any non-Americans voting, the McDonalds and BK you've had is as different from the American version as the American McDonalds and BK are from each other.
RubiksMaster 06-09-07, 02:17 AM Except in Canada, where the only difference is you can order your value meal with poutine.

Subway is good, but I always feel like I'm wasting money paying someone to make me a sandwich. I can make a damned good sandwich at home. I can't make decent fries, though.
lucifers angel 06-09-07, 12:55 PM if i had to choose, it would be Burger King, but i dont eat much fast food,
Neither. I don't eat junk food.

FALSE. Try again.
Once a year:
Two bites of the center of a Whopper with everything.
A big bite of a McDonald's filet of fish (with the rubbery steamed buns.)
Eight McDonald's fries.
A sip of a Burger King vanilla shake.
Followed by 20 minutes of laps in the pool or a brisk swim in the ocean. Worth every bite/gulp.:D

:bugeye:
You do realise that is not normal don't you?
Pandaemoni 06-09-07, 05:52 PM I prefer the Whopper to the Big Mac but McDonald's french fries to BK's by a country mile.
phonetic 06-09-07, 06:30 PM Hmm. Tricky call.
They're both shit, but good in that mmmm-omfg-it's-so-greasy-and-bad kind of way.
The BK burgers without any sauce are pretty dry, like the double bacon cheeseburger. It always needs some ketchup. Then, there is McDonald's insistence of putting those sodding gherkins/pickle in their burgers.
McDonald's fries are much much better than BK, but at least 50% of the time you'll get a shit batch and be disappointed. Too soggy, too many brown bits, too much salt, the stuff that's been frying at the bottom of the cage for an hour, etc.
I'm usually a quarter lb'er with cheese kind of guy, so I'll say McD's.
It's not that I don't like salad, but it's a safer bet not to have any unless you want to make a mess of your clothes and car. McD's Big Tasty's were vicious bastards in that respect.
I'm thinking too much into this.
RubiksMaster 06-09-07, 06:40 PM The thing I really like about BK is the spicy tendercrisp.
If I could get a Spicy Tendercrisp meal with McDonald's fries, that would be awesome.
I don't like either actually. The meat's like rubber frisbees, the bread is either soggy or tastes stale and the fries are never right. Plus last time I had a whopper (which was about 2 years ago now), I got severe (and I mean severe) food poisoning.:(
I just don't like junk food much. Plus when you factor in the cost of both, it is cheaper to go into a nice little cafe or restaurant and have a proper meal.:p
Syzygys 06-10-07, 04:47 AM Fast food make you fat.
I actually thought of making an anti-Supersize me movie, where I would prove that I can eat fastfood for a month without gaining weight...
Of course I would exercise and not eat everything all the time from the menu. Not to mention I have high metabolism...
Syzygys 06-10-07, 04:49 AM Burger King fries are definitely the best fries in all the land,
Nothing beats Arby's curly fries, I am sorry....

I also love BK's Hershey pies.... This thread is nothing without pictures:

OK, let's throw in a drink too:

Syzygys 06-10-07, 05:16 AM Anyway, the fastfood restaurant who comes up with this burger first gets my ultimate vote:
