This is the first time it happened. When I click on the Opera icon, it uses up all CPU power and can't open. The other browser opens just fine.
Only thing I did was zooming in and magnifying the text, but I don't think that caused it. Restarting the computer didn't solve the problem...

The plot thickens...
I switched to another Windows users and Opera opened just fine. So looks like it just has a problem with that particular user (me). I have a bunch of bookmarks, so I don't want to reinstall unless I can save the bookmarks, whichis hard without opening the browser first...

But you can open the browser (under different users), so you can retrieve the bookmarks. Or just find opera3.adr

With the uninstall on browsers you usually get an option to delete everything or leave bookmarks and user settings. It's worth going through the motions to find out.

I must be tired tonight, because I have no idea how to retrieve the bookmarks. Under the other user there is nothing in the bookmarks.
And what is that opera3.adr?
There weren't that many bookmarks, so no big deal , but I like to understand things, and if this happens in the future I would know what to do...

OK, I fixed it, if anybody is interested. The problem was low virtual memory and I had to clean the browser's catch. I actually reinstalled Opera and it still remembered the Bookmarks. Ain't life great?
It actually did open just took a minute or so, and I was impatient to wait for it. The CPU usage went up to 100% and stayed there for quite a while, but eventually the browser opened. I made sure there is more room in the cache for the future...
