In length, breadth, and depth Bond. Also, to devolve from the characters to the actors: Sean Connery, much more impressive than Matt Damon. Who would you rather have a drink with?
James Bond is the classic. It's not meant to be too realistic and yet there is some reality in it as well. As far as Bourne Identity, too dark and depressing. James bond is a fun to watch franchise. (the new casino royale doesn't count)
The early Bond movies were the best. As they progressed and started to change the actors that played Bond the whole movie started to get worse and worse. Dr. No (1962) From Russia With Love (1963) Goldfinger (1964) Thunderball (1965) You Only Live Twice (1967)
Its kinda hard to vote..its like asking, 'who's a better cowboy?" "John Wayne or Clint Eastwood" Its a generational thing mixed with nostalgia. I really think the Bourne movies are really good and the Bond people know it. Its why the last Bond movie was bumped up a notch in the action and suspense.
John Wayne of course, he taught Clint how to act! Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Bond. the best bonds= Connery, Dalton, Brosnan, and Moore. Daniel Craig is horrible, and Lazenby wasn't the best either.
Yeah, I share your reasoning, I found an article once that said Bourne was the new ultimate spy in history, because it is more realistic. Well, maybe for the United States! Some people don't realize that Bond films are made in the UK, and that most of the actors/actresses are european! Sean Connery: Scottish Roger Moore: Bristish Timothy Dalton: Welsh Pierce Brosnen: Irish And whomever wrote the article said bond never remorses and enjoys killing his victims!?!:wtf:
3 of my favorite Bond girls: Kara Milovy (Living Daylights) Melina Havelock (For Your Eyes Only) Domino (Thunderball) (Played by a French acteress who was Miss France in 1958)
Bond series has 20 films, (21 if you count the old Casino Royale made in 1955, with John Sellers playing Bond) And who can take Matt Damon seroiusly after watching Team America: World Police?! Meeeeaaaatt Daaaaaaammon!:yawn:Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
I thought the girl in the first Bourne film was more attractive than any of the Bond girls I've seen. But I haven't see most of them. Sean Connery has a sense of humor. And the accent, of course. The action sequences in the Bourne movies make more sense. And the plots. Ian Fleming wrote better prose and plots than Robert Ludlum. Which isn't saying much. But the Bourne movies wisely leave most of the books out. The Bond movies have too many jarring idiocies. Shooting will not be too good for my enemies, when I become an evil mastermind. But the Bourne sequels killed off the sidekick girl - it's been downhill from there. Pah. Clint Eastwood made better movies than any of them.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWTzyU5MFgM Here we go, Matt Damon clips from the "Team America" movie. See if you can take the Bourne series seriously now! lol!
I have to say Jason Bourne and his action scenes are better and he is handsomely believable but how far can his series actually go; as now he knows who he is and who is after him. Bond has so much more class but its old school and a bit dated. I think more people can relate to the police chasing them then rather than making sure their martini is shaken and not stirred.
The only James Bond movie that I kinda liked as a kid was the one with Jaws. That huge guy with the metal teeth.
