What's the movie claim that makes it seem out of perspective?

I heard about this months ago on NPR. I believe the movie makes it seem as though practically all diamonds are extracted from the Earth through brutality and pain. Death, murder, slavery, etc.....

The diamond industry has put quite a bit of money in anti-propaganda regarding this issue.
Or propaganda depending on your point of view.


I find it interesting that many of the large diamonds are 'cursed'. It's no wonder as so many have died, not necessarily in the mining of the stone, but in the passing on of the stone from owner to owner.
So much wealth tied up in such a minute object.
