So, I'm thinking this could either suck a big hard fat one or it could be really bloody awesome. Should I waste a tenner and go and see it or should I stick with the safety of the knowledge that the anime will never be bettered and leave the film for those who don't realise anime can do what live action can only dream about? I just read Akira and I was blown away, so I came to the conclusion graphic novels are always going to surpass live action films. The only films I've ever seen translate well into film are Chuck Palahniuk's Fight Club and Choke.
