Hi. Could someone explain the phenomenon and how classical physics failed to describe it?
I've got the part of what it is but I don't quite understand how they use classical physics model to describe it. I've got the part that if you use classical physics to describe it, it predicted an infinite intensity produced at high frequency--the UV catastrophe. But why would it predict that? (something the model was using the inverse 5th power of wavelength but...not clear)

Also how did Plank corrected this with the concept of quantized energy?

Thanks in advance for helping!

A (more than) raw sketch of the answer can be found at HyperPhysics. I have parts of these calculations in my notes at work, if you want we can have a discussion about that later.

Bye!
