Birgitta Jonsdottir a member of the Icelandic Parliament is my heroine. She deserves recognition more than what the mainstream media gives her credit for. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birgitta_Jónsdóttir http://joyb.blogspot.com/
At this moment in Iceland's history, the only important issue is saving the country from economic ruin. What's she doing to help with that?
Believe it or not, she has been fighting for the PEOPLE as minute as she is with not that much power considering that most politicians are FAKE. To me, every effort counts as minute as it may be. I think without her, Iceland would be in a more TERRIBLE state. Of course, that's just my opinion.
Iceland’s central bank needs to refinance 638 million euros due in December and a 75 million-euro syndicated loan due September, according to data available on its website. Capital controls in place since the end of 2008 won’t prevent the government from selling bonds in euros, the Reykjavik-based bank said. Small Bond Sale Iceland’s $4.6 billion of foreign reserves mean the government is under no pressure to refinance the whole amount due this year, and the first bond sale will probably be small, said Finance Minister Steingrimur Sigfusson in a Jan. 7 interview. Next year, Iceland needs to refinance 218 million euros, according to the Finance Ministry. The island also needs to make a 120 million-euro payment on its IMF loan, said Sturla Palsson, director of international and market operations at the central bank, in a phone interview. Iceland is rated BB+ at Fitch Ratings, or “junk.” Moody’s Investors Service and Standard & Poor’s both give Iceland their lowest investment-grade ratings. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-...c-review-approved-by-imf-government-says.html
