I have this suspicion that he thinks he is, And that is why he has tried to rally Muslim Support on a global scale.

If that is the case, then would any Muslims out there be offended that some like Bin Laden is trying to force a Holy war just so he ends up with some historical notation to equal that of what he uses to rally?

He has seemingly started his own crusade that doesn't justify anyone other than himself.. the money he's spent on training people to become suicide soldiers for his greater glory could have been spent on the Afghan People to help them with their poverty line and buy their own aid in during their drout. This would have made him a better historical figure than that of a man hellbent on settling his own vendetta's rather than helping his people.

That one singular man, shouldn't have the power to try and equal that of what any religion holds dear.

Bin Laden is a giant fraud...

the only reason muslims back him is that he mentions Allah. They're like an ultra-zealous group of Islamic Televangelist fans one thousnad fold.

Bin Laden gets his supprt from associating with religion, but doesn't justify himself with it. He isn't just a sadly misguided man who feels he's doing good. He's a shockingly evil man who uses religion to gain support.

Osama bin Laden is a madman, living out a dark age phantasy of Islamic glory.
Owing to massive western publicity he is now a powerful symbol of Islamic fundamentalist power/Americanhatred. He should have been treated as the criminal he is, instead of being elevated to "nation" status and a modern day embodiment of "evil".

There are one billion muslims in the world today, most of whom would regard bin Laden with contempt. The trouble is, he has now become a seductive symbol for the thousands of dissaffected young Arabs, who are living under the shadow of corrupt tin pot governments and looking for a way to voice there anger.

If I remember correctly, it wasn't that long ago that Arafat was considered a terrorist. Maybe Osama wants a Nobel Peace Prize too. ;)

I suspect that he wants power and control. I wonder if he is more of the Hitler ego than he is an Islamic radical.

One of the main differences between bin Laden and the other screwy fundamentalist fanatics is that he's a squillionaire. This has enabled him to get in a position of power, manipulate the Taliban and pursue his ultimate "glory" in the fight against the Great Satan...the US.

Looking at his photographs, he reminds me of one the saints in the childrens illustrated bible...he has an almost angelic look. Composed, cool and never aggresive in appearance. I suppose this comes from what Nietzche would call the "madness of certainty"...religion oozes through his veins. He never doubts, never questions, the insane righteousness of his cause.

Still, if bin laden is bigger than Allah, terrorism is bigger than bin Laden. Getting rid of him won't solve the problem...a new arm will grow.

What I understand is that the larger evils of history and life usually start and maintain momentum through those of assumed authority and influence. Lobbing off Osama is a good beginning.
