Now thats a lot of pork! You could practically feed the third world with that bugger. The third that isn't muslim at any rate.
Hogzilla may be dead but I have a feeling the hunting dogs won't go hungry for a while.

Not anymore, for it's fairly dead and surely rotting and festering. But yeah, that's a lot of pig.

Jewish people don't eat pork either.
Is that Hogzilla? I think I saw something on that a couple months ago.

Its an old story. Written up last year in National Geographic but actually dated back to june 2004 when hunting guide Chris Griffin shot it. He thought it was 1000 pounds but scientists dug it up and declared it was only 800 pounds. Still massive if its a wild pig. I go pig hunting here in Australia but I've never seen one that big down here.

I was gonna point out that maybe corpses lose weight when they rot underground. But then I realized scientists are smart and would've taken that into account. So, never mind.

So what the fuck? Why did he even kill the thing? Just because it was there? He didn't eat it, apparently. Seeing as how there was a corpse for the scientists to dig up...
If this was Australia or something where feral pigs are a huge problem because they're non-native wildlife, then that's one thing, but this is in fucking Georgia.
Sickening, really.
However, it was most likely a cross between a domesticated pig and a wild pig so its size wasn't anything except a consequence of its domesticated roots. So that's a little better.
But still a waste of a life. If you're going to kill it. Eat it.
Reminds me of my little brother. He went out deep sea fishing once and got this huge old fish. I forget what kind of fish but everyone was amazed at how big it was. The age was guessed by rangers (or wardens.. or some type of wildlife official.. I forget which) to be over 100 years old.
And the damn thing is probably still sitting in some freezer somewhere. Freezerburnt and ruined.
Fucking pathetic.

Pigs that size are too tough to eat. You can give it to the dogs but I suspect the hunter pictured in the photo didn't use any. I prefer taking a couple of good luggers with me on a hunt. Porkers are good eating. The young ones will run and crouch down still suddenly to confuse the dogs which will usually take off after the bigger ones.
The Abbatoirs are ridiculously strict nowadays. The meat has to be fresh but there are laws against transporting live feral animals. It only ends up in pet food anyway.
