Any music video by Tool is awesome. :) Like the Claymation.

"Fiction (Dreaming In Digital)" by Orgy.

"In Repair" & "Superman's Dead" by Our Lady Peace.

"Pitiful" by Blindside.

"Virtual Insanity" by Jamiroquai.

"Naqoyoatsi: Life Is War". This is actually a film, 90 minutes of stunning visuals complemented by pure music. No running commentaries.

"Jeremy" by Pearl Jam. Tragic, how the little boy ended his life. :(

its kinda old-ish now, but Powerman5000's "when worlds collide" was SOOOO cool. When i saw that i was like "HOLY SHIT! thats the coolest thing ever!!" been a loyal fan ever since. Too bad they broke up. All their other videos were cool too. especially the older ones like "organizized"

Ok, i am almost certain that these are the most awesome music videos, in no particular order:

"Frontier Psychiatrist" by the Avalanches

"Army of Me"
"All is Full of Love"
"Human Behaviour"
"It's Oh So Quiet"
and anything else by Bjork

"Around the World" by Daft Punk

"Hell Bent" by Kenna

"Remind Me" by Royksopp

"Just"
"Knives Out"
"Paranoid Android"
"Fake Plastic Trees"
"Karma Police"
all by Radiohead. In my opinion, "Just" has got to be one of the most interesting music videos ever

"Rabbit in Your Headlights" by Unkle with Thom Yorke

"Under Pressure" by David Bowie and Queen

The White Stripes actually had some really great music videos too. And of course, mostly all that Spike Jonz and Michael Gondry do is divine. Any to add?

Videos used to be like short movies. Now they're just a blinding series of five-second edits. The music is often better today, but the videos really suck. I imagine a lot of you have never seen these, but if you take entertainment seriously as art, I think these stand as some of the best videos ever produced:

Golden Earring: Twilight Zone (a cool plot twist in only 4 minutes)
Duran Duran: Hungry like the Wolf
Green Jelly: Three Little Pigs (nice and violent!)
Madonna: Like a Prayer (Pepsi fired her for making this one)
Michael Jackson: Beat It (screw "Thriller")
Greg Kihn: Jeopardy (a funny observation about marriage)
Krokus: Screamin' in the Night (gotta throw in one "hair band")
ZZ Top: Sharp Dressed Man

When our cable company finally pulled in MTV, we watched it all night every night for three weeks straight.

Some of the more recent ones that don't suck, in this geezer's opinion: (yeah my taste in music is not always so hip but these are good videos)

Blind Melon: No Rain (every misfit's dream)
Dixie Chicks: Earl's Gotta Die (come on, it's a cool story)
Kid Rock: Cowboy
Korn: Follow the Leader (anything by Korn rules)
Linkin Park: In the End (nice use of contemporary software)
NiN: Head like a Hole (anything by NiN rules)
Santana: Smooth (us geezers gotta stick together)
Shakira: Ojos Así (before she decided to learn English and conquer North America)
Tool: Undertow (anything by Tool rules)

I agree with Byork clips, people can joke about her all they want and some of the jokes might even be funny but thats a cool chick and her music video's are ALWAYS awesome.

Wu-tang videos are awesome, except for some of the really recent ones.

the rare "diary of a madman" video by gravediggas..... awesome

anything with hot chicks half naked, preferably shaking their asses.

"out of control"-chemical brothers

"evolution"-pearl jam. don't really like pearl jam, nice clip though, everynow and then its good to see something thats not about how much some pansy loves some tramp.

more.... can't think...

Without any competition at all

Everything is Automatic - Matthew Good Band.

With close seconds and thirds going to Hello Time Bomb and The Future Is X-Rated by mgb.

'Just' by Radiohead was also fantastic. Weapon of Choice by Fatboy Slim was good - with the dancing old guy.

Weird as it was, I also liked Halcyon On & On by Orbital - although it's a rare video to see.

That was the Broken movie, not a music video. Which was truely beautiful, wasn't it?
And yes, they are - with the exception of "Sin", which was somewhat disappointing.

Aphex Twin - Come to Daddy

How I failed to mention this! Fucking excellent!

THat's an awesome video!!

No shit. Have you seen Babylon AD? Sheer fucking brilliance, Manson directed.
