I'm tempted to whack it up to $4,500.00 to maybe get $200, but then I have no intention of paying if I was the winning bidder, so maybe I won't.

Madness.

That's some mad shit. So mad that it can't possibly be a con (can it?).

What does he mean by: "you are buying a huge box only, anything else is just a gift from me to you" ?

He means the PS3 box - obviously. Do you honestly think I'd be stupid enough to bid $3,150 dollars for an empty cardboard bo... oh crikey..

*Hops over to eBay*

All I can tell you guys is that this sale makes completely no sense, it's BS. I mean why would anyone give a damn about the original NES when you can download the ROMs illegally and play using any emulator like NESticle, etc. It's just so stupid I cannot fathom it. Then in 2 months when the original NES wears down you can cry about your favorite games being lost when all you had to do was download them off a ROM site, hahaha. This guys kidding right?

Something tells me that it's not the NES that's prompting the current high bids.

Yes, but you can download those games offline you understand? That means they'll be preserved forever on your PC rather then a breakable outdated medium :-P

How to house clean... Some junk you can't throw away and you just can't find anyone willing to buy it, what better way than adding it asa gift to some super inflated purchase, considering it would cost more to dump then palm off on someone that see's it a deal.

(Someones junk, is someone elses treasure.)

I have a guy that wants to sell me his PS3 for $700. I'm tempted to do so and take it and hang out in front of Best Buy. I could even carry it into the store and walk around with it like I'm looking at games and accessories. SURELY someone in the store will freak out and offer me a grand before they stop to think about what they are doing, right?

Should I get one for a $100 premium? The guy is paying the shipping and everything.

Edit: It's the 60GB version, of course.

That's actually a really hilarious idea man, brilliant!

The only question I have is whether or not the units they first produced for sale are infact operational, or will some underlying defect be found that was similar to the overheating XBOX 360's?!!!!

I played the PS3 today at Gamestop when I was out shopping for presents. I wasn't very impressed. The graphics are good, but in reality, they really aren't even that much better than those in the PS2. I played Motorstorm, which was a pretty fun game, actually. But I was expecting ultra smooth frame rates and a very realistic and interactive environment. But it was all the same shit I've ever played, but in higher resolution. Environment interaction was the same as any shit I've ever played. The physics were the same as any shit I've ever played. And the frame rate seemed like it was around 20 FPS--not very high for a videogame. And the game play is just about the same as anything else.

I suspect that as usual, as programmers get better at writing software optimized for the particular hardware, the graphics will get better. I hope other games are better than Motorstorm.

That is a pretty early build of Motorstorm. I keep hearing reports on it and it gets better and better. And don't forget, people said the same things about the 360's first games. Look at Gears of War today, which has to be the best console game out right now by all accounts, and you can see what a year does.

Also, EA has made several PS3 games already and they are guessing that they are using 20% of its power. I wouldn't be surprised if the same is also true of the 360. Multi-core processing is in its infancy. Hell, look at God of War on the PS2 to see how far a system can be pushed in 5 years.

The sad thing about this revolution is that it will come slowly and in fits and stops. So we won't be blown away all at once. First we get used to some swanky graphics. And then somebody comes up with rag-doll physics. And then AI gets good in a game like FEAR. And then environments are destructible... these all come a little at a time and we get inured to the progress being made.

I was blown away by Doom, Quake, and Far Cry, but each time very much less so. I guess I'm saying, the revolution is coming, but we will hardly notice it. We'll be too busy bitching about Uwe Boll's latest offering to even notice how great the gaming is.
