I have been watching the most beautiful woman/man thread, and is there anyone else out ther who thinks beauty is skin deep? i mean all these lovely looking men and women are all very well and good but they could have personalities of donkeys butts. it seems to me that people (me included) want a token looking person on my arm. what do you think?
We all want to have an ideal mate in life but sometimes we cannot find what we are looking for. Perfect bodies aren't easy to find in todays world so we must learn to accept people as what they are not only by looks but as what they think as well. Many "pretty" people I've met are so hung up on themselves its a wonder they ever really have a real realtionship anywhere! Others find their "beauty" attractive to go out with them to "show them off" to others like a trophy or something. Many pretty people that do marry find themselves in a divorce rather quickly because they are too good for the other person and seek others to keep up their game.
Beauty is only skin deep. I will agree with that totally. However, and you knew this was coming....ugly goes straight to the bone. No amount of personality or inner beauty will overcome someone you personally find vehemently unattractive. I've dated really pretty girls that were much less fun to be around than a few of the less attractive girls with better personalities. But if I don't find the girl attractive, no amount of chemistry or personality will overcome that. Not everyone is superficial but to say that looks don't play a big part it our dating, is quite inaccurate.
sure looks play a big part in dating, but shouldnt personalities aswell? i mean my husband is no oil painting, (sorry love) but he has a great great personailty, and that is over all why i fell in love with him.

Oh most definitely. The last girl I dated was very pretty, but was a bit on the pushy/bossy side, with tantrums thrown here and there. That was a personality that I could not live with and had to break up with her. That's a two way street, my dear Shorty!

I know that when I'm with someone who's personality I really enjoy, they become that much more beautiful. Works the other way too. It can totally change the way you look at someone. So, no, I wouldn't say it's skin deep.

No, seriously, personality is important, but let's be honest. Personality alone is not attractive. You could be the nicest, most caring person in the world, but that won't make people fancy you if you look like a dog's ass.
Personality is not what I notice from across a crowded room. Looks are what gets someone noticed, personality is what keeps you there.
