Hey, LOL. I didn't think I'd get any replies to this. I was just excited he got home safe and sound. He's 17! Long plane flights, his first time out of his hometown etc... He said France was beautiful. The locals gave wrong directions on purpose... lol. England was fun. He and friends walked around London for about 5 hours, and everyone they talked to was kind (and gave valid directions).
why are the french so antagonistic to all americans? i mean, giving wrong directions to someone on purpose is just mean. and i knew a guy who went to france on business once: he waved down a taxi, the driver asked him if he was american, and when he said yes, the cab driver refused to take him, and drove off.
oh come on what are the chances she made a mistake exactly in the word "English"? Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! like come on...
I just fell in love with Paris and want to return there soon! I also want to visit more of France as well mainly the southern part. I had such a great time in Paris that the week I was there just flew by and I found myself not wanting to leave for I hadn't seen everything there is to see in Paris in such a short time. So much history, beauty, friendly people, great foods, places to visit, and great transportation system especially the subway which you can never get lost in for it is color coded! Thank you Frenchmen and women for such a great time and such a wonderful clean city. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
I can't imagine they are antagonistic to all Americans. That would take a lot of planning and communication! I just thought it was funny, because we heard that could happen in France, and then it did. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! What do European tourists say about our hospitality in the U.S.? Any comments anyone? PS Cosmic - I'm with you. My son said northern France was beautiful, and he ate 2-3 baguettes every day, and the croissants! I would go to to Europe in a heartbeat. I'm starting a baguette "fund" today!
It must be hard to be a parent. I remember my dad waiting out on the street for me when we had some trouble in Bombay. I remember my mum sitting patiently by the window when I came back late from an evening out. I used to get mad at them, but now, looking back, I think it was sweet. hmm well i dont know but i suppose its pretty hard to tell whos a tourist in America, cause we have such a variety of people here.
We have a lot of employees from other countries. When Upjohn's changed to Pharmacia, we had a lot of people here speaking Swedish.
