does the victim have a criminal background? maybe this was a Pampers deal gone bad.
kidding aside, can we have one single day without yet another news account of a new low to which humans have stooped?
welcome to sciforums airdog
a place where every instance of human brutality will be recorded, documented and preserved for all eternity
I would think that an 8 month old baby would not last long with stab wounds :(
Meanwhile, in Sydney, arsonists have started burning down homes and property early this year. Christmas is only a few weeks away folks, they've already started to destroy lives so they can really enjoy the season.
Peace.

Teri, recall the last big fires? Half the east coast was aflame, and when towns were evacuated, gangs of thieves entered the towns with many trucks and stole everything they could. It would not surprise me if those thieves were responsible for the fires, just so they could do that.
spookz; no sweat. I wasn't referring to this site...I've been a news hound for years. been reading three newspapers daily for...ever, it seems.
CounslerCoffee 10-08-02, 03:45 PM The world just keeps getting more and more f***ed up everyday. First that poor kitten and now this.:(
Who the fuck would stab a baby? This world is getting more and more fucked up with every day that passes
Probe into baby stabbing
October 09, 2002
POLICE were trying to establish a motive for a vicious stabbing attack on a baby in Townsville.
The girl is in a critical condition at Townsville Base Hospital
The eight-month-old girl was reported to be in a critical condition in the Townsville Base Hospital today after undergoing surgery last night for multiple stab wounds.
The girl was rushed to hospital by ambulance after police were called to a house at Peacock Crescent in suburban Thuringowa, about 6.20pm (AEST) yesterday. Detective senior Sergeant Joe Kitching described the attack as unprovoked.
"It's certainly a frightening scenario something we don't particularly like attending, of course," Det Sgt Kitching told ABC radio. "It is a very, very violent act and it is a hard matter to investigate." An 18-year-old man was due to appear in court today charged with attempted murder. Det Sgt Kitching said the baby's parents would be offered counselling.

Phrenetic 10-08-02, 11:30 PM I am apathetic towards this. Why should I care?
If you don't care, don't post in the thread. Simple.
Stabbed baby 'critical'
By Jordan Baker
October 09, 2002
AN eight-month-old girl is in critical condition after being stabbed 16 times with a kitchen knife.
An 18-year-old man, whose name has been suppressed, appeared in a north Queensland court charged with attempted murder.
Detective Senior Sergeant Joe Kitching said the attack took place at the baby's family home in Townsville at about 6.20pm (AEST) yesterday.
She was stabbed in the stomach and chest.
"It looks like it was about 16 times," Det Sgt Kitching said.
The baby was rushed to Townsville Hospital where she underwent emergency surgery.
She remained in a critical condition in intensive care, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Det Sgt Kitching said the alleged offender was at the baby's home for a gathering.
"It's quite a horrific crime; it's a very serious and violent attack on a totally defenceless baby," he said.
"Her parents are obviously very distraught. They are keeping a bedside vigil and have been with the baby since it happened."
An 18-year-old man was arrested at about 9pm last night after a search involving a helicopter.
He did not apply for bail in the Townsville Magistrates Court today and was remanded in custody until November 26.
Inquiries were underway into his mental state.

Babies are so small, that a kitchen knife would probably have pierced right through to the other side. It's so hard to get over the fact that the guy did it sixteen times! That's not a few seconds worth of madness, that's prolonged rage! All victims of violent crimes deserve our compassion and sympathy, but because this is a tiny baby, I'm finding it hard to comprehend. The death penalty would be too lenient for this particular offender. I wonder how the parents of this madman feel?
I wonder whether any of the god believers are saying 'god works in mysterious ways'. What a world. Humans think they're so superior to all the other life forms on this planet. Cruelty is solely a creation of man.
I'm upsetting myself here so I'll go. Sorry folks - I needed to vent.
Cheers
Teri
Sorry to have upset you Teri.
Hello all.
I'm new to this forum (Obviously)
I don't think cruelty is solely a creation of man.
There are apes who kill monkey's for "Sport?"
Many animals kill for the chase. They're not all cute and cuddly.
But stabbing a baby is obviously "mental" and the man really does need help.
Please don't think you upset me. It's the cruelty of others that upsets me. You've earned my respect for caring so much about what's going on around you. I think it's wonderful that you care, but I worry that getting too worked up about this sort of stuff can cause problems for you. Even though we don't know one another personally, you are special to me.
Take care,
Teri :)
I meant to welcome you in my previous post - sorry. Welcome aboard.
What's the source of your information about the apes? I would have thought animals either kill for food or territory, not amusement. Just curious.
Cheers.
Teri.
