This inexpensive [ about the cost of aspirin ] compound has been known to be an effective treatment for a broad range of viral diseases including: herpes I and II, hepatitis-C, AIDS and many others. This discovery was first made and published in the Journal: Science: volume 188 pages 64-66 in 1975 and was written by: Snipes, Person, Kieth, and Cupp. It is titleled: Butylated Hydroxytoluene Inactivates Lipid Containing Viruses. These same scientists and many others have written and published follow up articles about this truly important discovery.
I myself self treated my self with daily doses of 200mg to 350mg of BHT to treat an acute onslaught of hepatitis-C. I had recieved 14 transfusions of blood products back in 1968. Because of the reckless manner in which blood products were handled back then about 1 in 4 units of blood products were infected with hepatitis-C. There is an initial phase to this disease which most people survive. But it could become active again decades later which it did with me in 1997. I was being seen by the VA at that time and was told I had Hep-C. I had read about BHT being used to treat herpes and began my own self treatment. I tested negative for hepatitis-C within 2 months using no other medications whatsoever. Many other people have their own experiences they have posted about on the web using BHT to treat viral infections. I still take it as a prophylactic as a matter of course. I have said what I have to say about it. If you have a viral disease you can do web searches and decide for yourself about it. Also, if you have an active sex life it`s prophylactic aspects may interest you. I always still use rubbers. I never want to catch any of the very nasty infections out there and never have. Yes I got hepatitis-C, but that was through blood transfusions. I have always used rubbers because I do worry about catching diseases. ...fellowtraveler

REPLY: What`s my point ? I care about other people and do what I can to help them. A very many people are sick and dying of such diseases as I mentioned. What is your point in asking such a question of me ? What is with you ? Do you see no POINT in trying to do what you can to help other people ? What do want from me, some big argument ? I really do not understand how you or anyone else could ask, " What`s your point ? " ...fellowtraveler

    Quick search says:
BHT has been proven effective against every lipid-coated virus in animal and laboratory tests but few human studies have been conducted. It can be used as a preservative in the storage of oils that might otherwise tend to become rancid.

Which means keep the possibilities in mind....

REPLY: Thank you my friend, YOU understand what I am speaking of. Very few people know about this when you consider how long this information has been floated around the alternative treatments community. And how many credentialed researchers have looked into it. It works and it`s all been explained as to exactly how it works by men such as Dr.George Rouser, a renowned expert on lipid structures. ...fellowtraveler

I guess I just don't understand how your OP will lead to any kind of discussion on thsi topic as no real question had been posed.

REPLY: My friend, there is no question I am proposing. I am presenting some life saving information to many people who can benefit , save their lives or the lives of people they love and care about, by simply telling them about something that can save their lives they were previously unaware of. Perhaps we can be friends. I would like that. ...fellowtraveler

I think your recommendation is well meant, but it could be harmful if used as a substitute for accepted medicine.
It could also be beneficial. It could help against the illness.

I have a relative with MS who is medically trained.
She says that there is no shortage of published advice from people offering cures, with personal testimonies of miraculous results.
There aren't tens or hundreds of them, there are thousands.

I don't personally suffer from any major illness, but if I did I would only take one as an addition to medical treatment, and then only with professional advice.

    try ldn for your MS.

This is true but it's a 2way street. theres medicine that arent being pursued due to no money to be made. or even worse theres treatments where the patents have expired and could help other diseases but we dont know for sure.

people are emotional about this and frustrated with doctors because theres stuff out there that works for people but doctors dont know and dont prescribe it.

for your relative with MS, you should have her look into ldn. if you know anything about ldn and ms, then there's all these ppl online who talk about how ldn is a $1 a day pill that's been around for decades and its changed many of their lives for the better.

so when these ppl keep hearing what theyre using is snake oil, and doctors ignore them, what do you expect from them? these people have medical charts sometimes showing improvement.

people online have cold sores and used bht for dramatic improvements. its also been around for decades like ldn and no company or government researches it.

if i were really sick i would figure out every possibility because not everyone can just wait until theres a phase3 drug that will cure you.

Another point is that viral diseases and autoimmune diseases are episodic.
Early stage MS in particular, can disappear for many years before returning.

If someone has an attack, followed by a long period of recovery, and is taking one of these medicines at the same time, we have an apparent cure.

I don't think that doctors have any problem with this kind of thing, so long as people don't substitute it for medical treatment.
Even if it is only a placebo effect, that is a real effect. It does make people feel better.

Also, the variety of oils and supplements taken by people with MS, and the diets they follow are probably making them more healthy anyway.

REPLY: This BHT has been looked into by a very many medical researchers and has been show to really work for a very many viral diseases. There is no big money to be made with it.
All the conventional drugs and treatments for say hepatitis-C I am aware of have huge risks involved. BHT taken in the doses I described [ 2oomg to 350mg per day ] has relatively few side effects with a very few of those that have tried it. I noticed no side effects whatsoever. Also, there is nothing to prevent someone to use BHT in conjunction with some conventional drug.
That it works is really not in question. It has been used in MANY ANIMAL TESTS AND WORKS as a treatment and preventative for viral diseases. There are many papers about all of this available on the web about all this. As I mentioned earlier: Dr. George Rouser and many other credentialed researchers have written and published about all this. People have to make up their own minds for themselves. As of now it is approved as a food preservative and has been since the 1940s. You have in all likelyhood ingested a lot of BHT in foods you ate. ....traveler
