Ok, I thought I had Spyware undercontroll, I have most everything to deal with it. Now I am constanly being bombarded by BHO's, and constantly having my homepage redirected. Now I am not a very happy camper! Is there anything I can do? A firewall what?

Also I have this very annoying thing wanting to install Microsoft Frontpage everytime I open either IE, or a Microsoft office program. Is there anything I can do to stop that?

    Thanks.

You probably have the spyware under control, but there are registry keys that need to be deleted... My suggestion would be to run you spyware progs (I Use Spybot & AdAware) to delete the spyware...

SpyBot Search and Destroy is great because it lets you get a handle on your startup options and background processes. It's free too.

After you clear the spyware and the startups, go into you registry and start deleting things at RANDOM! (I'm just kidding, REALLY don't do this).

Instead, use a regedit program to delete the spyware keys:

DL a free trial version and empty out the useless keys... Hopefully this will help.

Remeber to make a back-up of your registry before you do anything to it... just in case.

I use Spybot, Adware, hijackthis, bhodemon, Browser Hijack Blaster, and Spyware blaster. Guess I'll need to another. I am using MSN now, screw IE.

What's a BHO? That's a new one for me. I'll probably say "duh!" when you spell it out.

    MSN is IE. Use Mozilla.

Strange how it works that way with both IE and Office. I wonder if it's a macro or a vbscript or something? Have you tried uninstalling Office and then reinstalling? Do you have an antivirus going? Are there any strange items running in your taskmanager window? Stryder has recommended using tasklist /svc at the command prompt as a better way to get the running processes. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work on my xp home machine. I guess I could fire up my xp pro box and see if it works. Hell, I guess I don't even know if you're running xp...

I think the old windows system use to have something similar occur when you hadn't installed internet explorer with a connection, it would keep coming up with a connection wizard.

I would guess there is a Regkey somewhere that is currently "00 00 00 00" which needs to be changed to "01 00 00 00" or "00 00 00 01" (Not sure which or even if this is the case) However I can't pin point which key needs altering without looking at a registry which is a shame.

That page describes a problem with installing, are you sure that's the right page?
Did you read my other post? Replace Office with Open Office, and reinstall IE and/or get Firefox.
