What makes poeple post threads on the BEST of something...?

What is the best movie?
Who is the best band?
What is the best way to... (*blank*)?

It is pointless.... Yet poeple seem to post such pointless threads....

OK, you are expressing yourself, but do you really think that mentioning one of the billions of movies in existance will make someone watch it?

Next thing you know, there will be threads with topics like "What is the best way to prove that something is the best?"

Everyone has their own opinion on differnt matters...
But if you are going to post a "BEST OF" forum.... make it a POLL!!!

And be sure to add that you may only vote on the POLL OPTIONS!

Instead of saying "What is the best movie?"
Make it "What is the best movie OUT OF THE FOLLOWING!?"

So, lets clear us some junk here, be more clear in your threads poeple.

That is quite a good post. Perhaps not the best in free thoughts, though.

LOL...
Nor the best at spelling and grammar.

In any case.. the reason why 'bests' are so ubiquitous is simply because they stimulate discussion.

I agree, but people won't abide by what you want and will still keep posting their threads of the best of.

I'll post here because the thread is still short. I believe that when they reach a certain length, probably around one scroll, each individual post has a very small chance of being read.

These things are like poetry. More people write it than read it.
