BBC documentary confirms Wiki on the shameful Israel policy (genicide?) againist the bedouins of the Negev Dessert.

Today I watched BBC documentary showing Israel's bulldozers destroy their primitive houses. Israel claims their settlements are "illegal." (Depsite some having existed for thousand of years before there even was an Israel!) Israel is destoying a people and ancient culture so jews can settle their land.

Here is part of Wiki report of this also:

"...After the establishment of Israel, the Bedouin almost completely ceased to move around with their herds, as a result of the state confiscating their lands.[2] Under Israeli administration, the Bedouin are confined to the northeast corner of the Negev. As a consequence, many Bedouin men emigrated to the newly established Jewish farms in the Negev in search of employment. However, they were not allowed to bring their families with them. Unlike other Muslim Arabs, the Bedouin may volunteer for Israeli military forces.[8]

Half the Bedouin population lives in cities.* Bedouin settlements are amongst the most deprived in Israel, and are severely lacking in services such as public transport and banks. The rest of the 76,000 continue to live in tens of "unrecognized villages," some of which predate the existence of Israel.[9] These villages do not appear on any Israeli maps, and are denied basic services like water, electricity and schools. It is forbidden by the Israeli authorities for the residents of these villages to build permanent structures, though many do, risking fines and home demolition.[9] Several, including Wadi el Na'am, are located close to the Ramat Hovav toxic waste dump, and residents have suffered from higher than average incidences of respiratory illnesses and cancer.[13] The Israeli government frequently demolishes homes and sprays toxic pesticides onto crops in the unrecognized villages, including one episode where Bedouin homes were demolished to make way for the establishment of a Jewish town.[14] ..."

    -----------------------
*BBC made it very clear this is not by choice but because of Irrael's bulldozers and forced "resettlement" One old bedouin lady has stubornly returned to site of her destroyed home (just a shack) five times in 2007 already to rebuild it.

If this is Isreal's current policy, how can anyone believe it was not the same years ago towards the Palestininas?

Yea - you are right - I was just watching actors and toy bulldozers run by remote control. Furthermore, Wiki is full of s... and all their references are fabricated.

Your baseless, sweeping dismissal is a good example of meaningless.

Maybe so, but Baron is right to be wary of the BBC. Their own internal audit showed them extremely biased on a number of issues. And the BBC's coverage of the Israel has never been, how shall I say it, "fair?"

Then I guess you didn't read the NYT coverage of the Israel/Lebanon conflict last year. Man, was it ever pro-Zionist...

Yeah, there are ever so many ways to look at Israel invading and bombing Lebanon for 34 days; for two "kidnapped" soldiers. Especially since they have only kidnapped and imprisoned a few thousand men, women and children in their own little Gitmo.

sorry to bump into your genocidal approach of the Israeli-Arab conflict!
but did you know that the very soldiers who drive those bulldozers and fire bullets at the poor defenceless arabs are infact mostly arab Israeli's !!!

Which of course makes it alright. Interesting though, I had not realised the IDF was mostly Arab.

Yes interesting isn't it!!!. All those hard facts and historical references and yet you didn't know how diverse and multi cultural the Israeli population is!

Ah yes of course. Which has nothing to do with the Negev Bedouin policy, general Israeli aggression towards its neighbors or the Israeli Gitmo.

If you dispute the BBC's and Wiki's facts about Israel's policy towards Bedouin, who lived peacefully with their animals in the Negev, please give /explain what the Israel policy is.

The destruction of their homes and nomatic life style is an indisputable fact. - Well shown in the BBC documentary. Many Bedouins have been forceably concentrated into camps (called "resettlement cities" - same as the Nazis did). They were able to keep a few sheep, but they are dying as there is not enough rain to keep them supplied with grass in one location (Why before Israel confiscated their lands they frequently moved with their heards. I.e. were "nomads.") THEY DO NOT KNOW HOW TO LIVE IN THESE "CITIES" and there are no jobs there.

The Bedouin birth rate is about three times higher than the Jews who came from Europe at end of WWII. To solve this problem, Israel is not yet killing them in the 20 to 1 ratio, as with the Palestinians, but by repeatedly bulldozing the crude shacks they sneak back into the Negev and rebuild, Israel has provoked these peaceful people to throw stones at the solders protecting the bulldozers. Shooting to kill will probably begin when it can be justified by a stone that kills or seriously injures a soldier.

Clearly Isreal is well on it way to solving the problem presented by the high birth rates of the Bedouins. Separating the men from the women (As a condition for getting a job.) is also helping reduce the birth rate. IMHO, the high Bedouin birth rate is the foundation of Isreal's policy towards them. What is your POV?

The BBC documentary did have interviews with Israeli government officials. One claimed that no one lived where the new settlements were being developed. This contradicted both by Negev graves contining bones 4000 years old and by another official's claim that the Bedouin had been moved into the "cities" (no water, no medical services, no electricity, etc. - really just concentration camps) to provide an education for their childern.

For this education, these childern walk about an hour to where the school bus is supposed to come. (BBC showed them doing this) but the roads were so poor that bus could not come, when the BBC was filming, so some went home and others walked and hour or so more towards the school.

Again, please tell what is the Israeli policy that causes these things to occur if it is not the elimination of the Bedouin. - a "final solution" to the high birth rate problem.

I think a more humane solution would be to give the Negev back to Egypt. That way the Bedouins would be Egyptians instead of "citizens of Israel." (Not much change as they are not actually treated as "citizen of Israel" currently. They are treated much more like some of Germany's citizens were under Hitler.)

I view it as a moral duty to speak out whenever a government treats some of it citizens so badly - with the obvious intent being genocide of that subgroup.
Too bad that the BBC did not do a similar documentary on Hitler's treatment of the Jews. If I had known, I would have been doing what I am now here. I did know about the treatment of the blacks in the USA - I was leader in the civil rights movement - often spat upon and once beaten by an old lady's cane (fortunately not injured as she was both feeble and too furious to aim well.)

    Vega

    hows it going?

Have you got any stats on the the number of Arabs in the IDF? I did not even know they were allowed into the army. Perhaps the arabs were only recruited cos they wanted to kill the bedouins?!!? Coas only the arabs are arseholes

But then again when Saddam ordered his armies to massacre the shias after the 1991 Gulf war it was still Saddams crime not the not the soldiers inthe army. So it is still a crime eof the israeli government/IDF high command as they gave the orders

you guys have to admit that the Israeli leadership are a bunch of toss pots and compete arseholes.
