Although I have admired many clever avatars, I think that as a whole they present tackily, and that sciforums has been much easier on the eyes without them.

I think avatars for subscribers is nice, as it does produce some meager incentive to feed Porfiry. Making them free for everyone though is bad, they're annoying and unnecessary. Next we'll get signatures with images in them. Nnngh...

If your pockets are empty wouldn't it be possible then to link to avatars from an external site?
In that case you are not paying for the bandwith!

Sorry for that,
but apparently the entire internet is based on cookies. Maybe you should change your preferences in your browser to 'allow for all cookies'?
