I tried GNOME first , but I hated it the first time I saw it. Now KDE rocks the house. All is simply wonderful.

    I LOVE Mandrake :m:

p.s. if you have some suggestions for a complete Linux Mandrake newbie, then please please post them here

I find that stealing software that costs money is a much better way of sticking it to the man than using open source software.

Actually, either way its the same. Software isn't a product like most. If you have a copy, you are in no way preventing someone else from having a copy. So either way, the true loss is (whether stealing or not) is in not having your revenue.

Really though I would say that my use of Microsoft Products for learning and personal use has made Microsoft a lot of money. I have always recommended and used Microsoft Server products like SQL Server and the Server Operating systems themselves. I'm sure that I have made them tens of thousands of dollars either through direct recommendations or indirectly by being an avid voice for them in the business. I'm sure there were times that a Linux machine would have been able to do what we needed if I shifted my skill set somewhat.

Come to think of it I have been a person that has voiced the benefits of Upgrading desktop operating systems and versions of Office too. I guess I really am a Microsoft whore. I love Microsoft. Is that so bad?
