Just a safeguard. I don't blame em after Israel's recent assault on Gaza and Lebanon and their jets stafing the Syrian president's home. Not to mention Israel wanting to bomb Iranian research facilities with the help of the U.S. while Syria and Iran have a defensive pact.

Preparation or not, Egypt wouldn't stand a chance against Israels military forces if she really chooses to fight a war.

Strange, since Egypt is not involved at all!

Good Morning baron,

I hope you had a good weekend.

yes you are completely right, Syria would get completed humilated by israel if it came to open war, however i think the article is mainly saying that Syria is preparing itself for an attack by israel.

I dont think Israel would really go down this route though as things stand at present.

It might be in Israel's best interest to invade Syria eventually. Remember, earlier this year, Iran and Syria signed a mutual agreement that an attack on one of the countries is an attack on the other as well. An attack on Syria would compel Iran to join the fray.

Of course, that's something Israel would love, since America would be compelled to help Israel, no matter what condition the US military is in. Maybe a few other American allies would join too, but not as many as the "Coalition of the Willing" in Iraq.

In the end, of course, Amerisrael would win, but at HIGH COST. America would probably bear the brunt of that cost, which is why it's in Israel's best interest.

Of course, my opinion may be 100% flawed. And I hope it is and never comes to that.
