It was first discovered by Nicholas-Claude Fabri de Peiresc in 1610. http://www.seds.org/messier/JpgSm/m42.jpg This is what we have to go on without the Hubble Space Telescope. There are other fine obseratories that are now on line which can give excellent photos But none seem to quite matche the Hubble. Chagur 06-08-01, 09:50 PM Like your choice of images, Wet1.
